Of course I also can tackle a blonde or a red but something about brunette hair is different.
Lifting to the perfect level so you have a great fade & you’re not *too light* 💡or *too dark* 🌑 is an art form of its own. A lot of my brunette clients always tell me they feel like I “specialize in brunette hair” because I always lift them to the perfect level & use a balanced glaze to tone them with that always fades well. ⚖️

Obviously the music to my ears is hearing my clients say they want to go red 🎶 but when my bestie says that it’s only that much better! 🎼
A full red mahogany balayage with tons of pink tinsel & feathers to complete the look. ✨ 🪶
If you’re interested in going red but feel warm tones aren’t the most flattering on your skin tone, choosing a mahogany shade is your best bet. This is considered a cool toned red with equal parts red & violet. If you want to play up either tone, obviously every shade is 100% customizable.
In case you forgot my absolute favorite thing to do, it’s always red heads in every single shade! ❤️🧡💛💜

These are the results after one session going back to blonde. Her ends were already blonde under permanent red color. Red can be the absolute most difficult thing to lift through, but for one session I think she lifted pretty well!

The key to low maintenance is keeping your natural root color. Any time your deviate from your natural color you create maintenance. I encourage my clients to keep their base color natural so they can keep their maintenance low (12+ week). Because who really has time to live their life in a salon chair?
