This year for my birthday, I'm asking my network to please donate to a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit, Crumb Snatchers Inc.

This organization tackles homelessness amongst foster children in college by providing housing during their winter and summer breaks.

Our goal of $33,000 is aimed at purchasing the organizations very first location. Thank you for assisting disadvantaged youth in snatching back the opportunities and resources that all youth should have.

Ok so look, everyone will not understand or support your vision. That’s why it was given to you and not them.
I remember telling everyone that I was going to become a lawyer and them laughing in my face and discouraging me because well, they didn’t believe in my vision.
I kept pushing toward my dream anyways. I’ve always gone against the norm. In fact, opposition makes me fight harder. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Even at 8 months pregnant, I believed in my vision and applied to law school.
I almost gave in to the naysayers though when I got accepted into law school.
There I was offered an opportunity that I spent so many years dreaming about and I doubted myself because I had a new born baby.
People closest to me told me I could never do law school as a single mom with a baby.
I almost believed them. I really did.
But then, I had that pep talk with myself. Y’all know what I’m talking about and if you don’t you need to start.
After days going back and forth mentally, I spoke to my inner self and said listen, it’s better to try and fail than to not try at all. 💯
I went on and attended law school with my 6 month old and to my surprise, I kicked law schools tail.
Each semester, this single mom who was still breastfeeding made the deans list. 🧠
At graduation, I walked across that stage Magna Cum Laude and with one of the most prestigious clerkships of my class. Favor!
Needless to say, the naysayers were wrong and my vision not only came to pass, but it was bigger and brighter than I ever imagined.
To God be the Glory!
So, keep envisioning your goals and regardless of the naysayers, EXECUTE!

What’s up Sophisticated Business Owners! Do not be misled in thinking that your company protects your brand. Your company merely prevents other companies with the exact same name form registering their business in the same state as yours. Y’all catch that?
Someone can register your same company name in another state and copy your brand if it is not protected with a federal trademark registration. You do not want this to happen as your businesses is most likely online with nationwide customers and this would create confusion for your customer base.
Takeaway, if you want to protect your brand and also legally own it as an asset, you need to trademark it.

Here’s a few tips on how to properly brand your business.
Step 1: “Create, create this is not up for debate!” 🎶I love that Tik Tok song!
Seriously though, you want to be sure and take your time creating your brand. Make sure that it is unique and distinct from other businesses in your industry. This will help you later when you want to own your brand with a trademark.
Step 2: Once you settle on a name, logo, slogan etc, protect it with a trademark. Remember, you do not legally own your brand without a trademark registration on it. This means you cannot prevent others from using it and quite honestly, you’re not taking your business serious.
Step 3: Be sure to continuously use your brand in commerce. This means use your brand within your business. How you use your brand will depend on the type of business you own. For example, a business that provides goods would use their logo on packaging supplies and/or labels on their products.
Now that you know this, I expect to see y’all implementing… 😉

Life is fun while we are here, but what happens when God calls you home. What does that mean for your business⁉️
The key is your operating agreement. 📑
I always mention the operating agreement for dictating the day-to-day functions of the business. However, this agreement also should address what to do in the event of your death—dissolution/winding up.
Since this agreement governs so many intricate aspects of your business, you want to make sure that it is well drafted and clearly outlines a protocol in the event of your death.
So, have fun and “live yo best life” but be sure to properly plan for your business because well, death is inevitable. 😉

Did you know that your LLC can be taxed as an S-Corp and receive more tax breaks? Yup file form 2553 to do this. 🙌🏾

It’s common for bigger companies and/or celebrities to steal brands, but with a good attorney you can nip that in the bud real quick. 😉
