I have been practicing as an Occupational Therapist for +10 years in numerous hospitals and facilities in the DFW area. The settings ranged from varying levels of rehabilitation, specialty area of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), home health, and telehealth. I received a Bachelors in Psychology at the University of New Orleans and a Masters in Occupational Therapy at LSU Health Science Center

So many layers to cut or move apart to get to baby during a cesarean section. Imagine having to recover after this and expected to be super mom! Moms, take care of yourselves and let others help postpartum. You are also healing and recovering.

If you have been or currently pregnant and having pain?
I can help with your pain relief.
It can be the simple things that need to be addressed like breathing better, posture mindfulness, or body mechanics (or I like to say Mommy mechanics).
As mothers, we have a lot things on our plate and at times forget how we are physically feeling. By the end of the day or even mid day after work, we are aching all over. What if I told you it can be helped?
Why do we suffer in these pains when we can address the issue to prevent other problems? It’s our mindset just to keep going and “it’s okay.” Sounds familiar? I do the same!

Here’s a reminder to care for yourself during and after pregnancy. See a pelvic health specialist to guide you through these transitions. It will create better outcomes sooner than later. Invest in yourself to be the best version for you and your family.
We always talk about self care and think of all the spas we want to go to, restaurants, manicures and pedicures. But what’s about physical self care? Treat your body to feel better from the inside out.

From the moment that little plus sign appears pregnancy, birth, and parenting bring lots of decisions that sometimes we as moms are uncertain about or feel pressured into choosing! Here is a wonderful little tool to help you decide and advocate for yourself and your baby!
Just Use Your B.R.A.I.N.
B - what are the benefits of the intervention or choice suggested
R - what risks are associated with this intervention?
A - what are my alternatives?
I - intuition, what is my gut telling me is right?
N - what happens if I do nothing?
This little tool can help in the overwhelming times of decision making such as during labor.

So excited for this workshop! Can’t come soon enough!
This past weekend was such nice weather I had to take my kids out to the park to enjoy.
We walked to the park and had a great time. My oldest ,turning 9, did not want to come and preferred the iPad 📱🤦🏻♀️😩. I was thinking of making him come but I didn’t want to fight that fight.
Chasing my kids around, playing hide and seek, and “it,” my back was feeling it.
So grateful the play area has turf. I laid out and did my stretches. Super simple techniques to do while your kids are playing! Maybe next time I will start with stretches first. FYI: Video is sped up!
Anyone else just bust out some poses out on the playground? Do what you gotta do to feel better!
What did you all do over the weekend? Get some Sun? Rest? Nothing? Self care ladies!

There are so many conditions that a Pelvic Floor therapist can address than mentioned above.
Those listed is just a few reasons.
I love focusing on the perinatal period so that I can address issues right when it happens. We can prevent other conditions from happening if we work on the core early on. Prevention is key and early management of symptoms is important. Don’t wait too long to get assessed!
Any of you have experienced the conditions above? How long did it take you address these symptoms? Few months? Years?
Me? I waited years! I’m still healing and working on myself since my first was born 8 years ago. I’m hear you tell you and encourage you to not wait too long. There’s help!
This is so exciting!

When you’re feeling restless due to back pain, do this cat cow pose to get instant relief. I’ve been doing this pose all morning because I woke up with back pain.
I was carrying, walking and transporting a lot of things yesterday and feeling it today.
I have to be more mindful next time and think of my posture and body mechanics. Traveling with 3 kiddos and going on a ski trip is a lot of work.
I made sure to pack light as possible and take breaks. I’m not perfect and it’s a lot of mindfulness that needs to be implemented into our daily activities for pain prevention. Make it into a habit and it’ll be routine in no time!

I love teaching parents how to bond with their baby using infant massage. It’s the sweetest moments and so good for eye contact and relaxation.
I recommend using edible oils if you want it to be more slick but babies skin are already smooth so sometimes it’s not needed.
***Please don’t perform without professional guidance.
