Our Story
Blackfriar is an Irish Restaurant located in the heart of Uptown Dallas serving up delicious food from cheese boards to our signature Fish & Chips. Enjoy one of our craft cocktails or choose from our huge selection of beer while sitting out on our large dog-friendly patio watching the game.
Our history as an Irish pub started from an old frame house on historic McKinney Avenue. What was once the front yard is now a lively beer garden overlooking this bustling cobblestone avenue. The pub is a casual welcoming spot, a favorite with the neighborhood.
The interior is decorated with ornate antique wood word that came most recently from the VIP room of the former Hard Rock Cafe, which stood next door until 2008. The room was called the Cheeseclub and was, by all accounts, the center of Dallas 1980s celebrity debauchery. The woodwork came originally from a castle in England owned by Pete Townshend of The Who, the entire room being shipped to Dallas in 1982. Look for the heavily-carved prayer panels and ceiling, plus the gothic arch back bar.
Happy Hour is every Monday-Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Brunch is Saturdays & Sundays from 11am to 4pm.
