Dust Bowl rehearsal: The Ballad of Tex Thornton
This weekend at The Dust Bowl, get to know Ward A. βTexβ Thornton who had a reputation as a rainmaker or charlatan, depending on your point of view. He showed up in Dalhart, TX right in the middle of the townβs misery, in 1935. He told the city he believed he could make it rain. And he certainly tried. He set off explosives in the clouds for several days, battling dust storms and high winds much of the time. Watch this behind the scenes rehearsal video of Sam Brukhman leading the group to feel every note and Tres Hunter gives Tex Thornton a voice for all to hear.
