A Brief Word from Mike

Dear Studio / Kuneo Community:As we wrap up 2015, I wanted to thank you for your generosity, share with you a report on 2015 giving and invite you to make a final donation for 2015.The good news...In 2015, we budgeted $30,000 in income from Kuneo/Studio donations. To date we& #39;ve received roughly $32,000!!! That& #39;s about 30% more than the previous year. Thank you!The challenge...I think that today and tomorrow, we can raise at least another $3,000 to raise our total giving to $35,000. If we can do that, we can make some much needed improvement to fix up Union& #39;s walls that have been chipped and dinged over time. Also, I will voluntarily play the Melodica with the Misfit Whatevers TWO TIMES this coming Lent as an act of penance for whatever I have done wrong in my life. The reality...I think it& #39;s important to give to the things that give us life. Union is a godsend to me and to my family. Rachel and I dedicate 10% of my income and some from hers every month to Union. I wouldn& #39;t ask y& #39;all to donate to something we aren& #39;t willing to give to ourselves. Thank you for all that you do to make Union amazing!Peace, Mike

Union Responds to North TX Tornados

Less than 12 hours after tornados ravaged North Texas, Union announced a partnership with Tango Tab and University Park United Methodist Church to feed tornado survivors and first responders.With only a few hours notice, 300+ volunteers rallied to produce 13,000+ sandwiches, 10,000+bags of chips / cookies and hundreds of supplies necessary for an immediate disaster response. Beginning in February, 10% of all coffee sales will benefit disaster relief efforts. In the meantime, we will collect donations at Union to be delivered on a daily basis to area distribution centers and members of our community are signing up for Emergency Responder Training so that they can be boots on the ground in the coming weeks.We are only able to do work like this because you donate to and drink coffee at Union. I hope that you will consider making a donation to Union as a part of your year end giving so that we can continue to support good work in 2016 and beyond.Peace, Mike Baughman Community Curator & Pastor
