The Stewpot
The Stewpot offers a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, providing resources
North Texas Giving Day is coming. On September 19 you can show your support for The Stewpot and make a profound impact on those at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Did we mention that your gifts will count TWICE if you give early? Give starting September 1st during early giving and your gifts will be matched by very generous donors. northtexasgivingday.org/organization/Thestewpot
Last year, Communities Foundation of Texas brought together 3,249 local nonprofits, including The Stewpot, to raise $63.9 million in North Texas. Since its inception in 2009, North Texas Giving Day has transformed from an idea to help local people give wisely, to a movement that has ignited a broad culture of community-wide giving.

Jr.’s words are hopeful ones. It takes all of us together, ‘trying’, to address homelessness.
The Stewpot now has dedicated staff out on the streets to offer case management and find housing for people experiencing homelessness.
This is part of a Coordinated Outreach Strategy in Dallas. The strategy is to immediately address the needs of people experiencing homelessness, providing robust case management and working to provide alternative housing so as to avoid unsheltered homelessness or entering a shelter.

We have some good news to share! CitySquare’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to accept The Stewpot’s proposal to purchase its Opportunity Center and continue its Neighbor Resource Center and Food Pantry programs. Now that CitySquare has accepted our proposal, we will move into due diligence and seek all necessary approvals, including from the congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, the home of The Stewpot since 1975. Thank you to all veterans and service members, like Darrin (in the video above), for your sacrifice and dedication. Your bravery ensures our independence every day. At The Stewpot, we’re helping to ensure that veteran homelessness is brief and non-recurring.
