Hard to believe it’s time for football season. Wishing I could have over to celebrate. Instead I will look back on Callie and Houston’s epic wedding reception.

Hannah’s style is similar to mine. Mixing vintage with modern touches, loves art and the outdoors. I think that comes across in her details. Very thoughtful and true to her.
Of course I love flat lays cause they are pretty but mostly because they are precious pieces that describe the person. Family heirlooms in the making. ✨

First day of Pre-K! 🐎❤️🤍💙

Today Ross started Pre-K at the same school I attended K-8th. It’s hard to believe we are already here. He has started the next chapter of his “big kid” life.
The school, hallways, and classrooms look the same to me, just way smaller. I felt a sense of calm dropping him off today knowing I was safe there once and that he would be too.
He told me last night he was a little nervous but then I told him I used to be in the same room he will be in. So just imagine that I am there and everything will be okay. He smiled and hugged me. 🥹

When the film scans hit as hard as dried rosemary in your face. 🎉

Heading home today and I was so excited to see Hannah and Taylor’s film scans in my inbox. Can’t wait to post more and more from their celebration.

Gone fishing 🎣 Out of office for our annual fly fishing trip on the Cache la Poudre River.
Can’t wait to see open range horses, have limited to no service, and feel the cool water.

Can’t wait to celebrate with Hannah and Taylor this afternoon. I’m sure grandma is going to be living her best life like she was on elopement day. (See photo 2 😜)

Finished up Lindsey and Eric’s gallery last week and while I was editing it I got to go down memory lane. Two of Lindsey’s bridesmaids, Kerri and Evan, were two of my past brides. Both got married in 2016.
Kerri was the first to get married. Both Lindsey and Evan were in the wedding. Then when Evan got married later on in the year and I got to see Kerri and Lindsey again.
Some years passed then Lindsey reached out saying she loved how I worked on those past two weddings and wanted to hire me for her own wedding.
On the wedding day I got to catch up with Kerri and Evan who I hadn’t seen since 2016. We all have kids now and are enjoying life.
I feel grateful for my career for many reasons but one of the main reasons is people having faith in me. Kerri and Evan were brides early on in my career. Lindsey saw how I shot their weddings and how I worked. She had faith in me that I would do the same for her even years later. I’m so grateful for these 3 ladies. Thank you for believing in my work and referring me, it means the world. 🫶🏼

Last month I got to spend the best afternoon with these two. You would think it would be easier to sum up 2 hours of shooting but this courthouse elopement over delivered. So many beautiful organic moments. Lots of smiles, bright colors, and sun.
This Saturday Hannah and Taylor get to party it up with their families and close friends. Stay tuned for even MORE from these two. I know it won’t disappoint.

What I try to achieve in family sessions is connection, joy, and organic moments.
This sweet family delivered all three things and more. I know I will look back on this day often. 💗

Vanessa and Grant got engaged at Arbor Hills, just the two of them, while taking an evening walk. So they wanted to go back there for their engagement photos. It was the perfect spring evening.

I count my blessing knowing that I married not only a good man but someone I call a friend. Friendship is what carries a lasting relationship in my opinion. And that’s something Cort and I work on.
So lucky to have opportunities to spend time alone with you, grow with you, and raise a beautiful son with you. Thank you for being you. And for loving me.
Cheers to almost a decade of marriage. 🥂

Last Day of School!!! 📚✏️

Today is Ross’s last day of school before he goes off to Pre-K in the fall. I simply can’t believe that back in 2021 he started attending the same little preschool I went to in the 90s.
At just 18 months old and still in the middle of COVID I dropped off my little boy. Today will be the last day I pick him up from there. Now he’s taller, no more chubby cheeks, talking a mile a minute, running and jumping.
I’m so grateful for the time he got to be apart of that sweet little place. Now we are onto new adventures.

Sending off completed wedding galleries always feels soooooo good. But completing one when you edited 90% of it with a broken dominant wrist... that’s a feeling like finishing a marathon with one shoe on and you somehow win. While “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” plays in the background.
Dramatic yes, but accurate? Also yes.

I’ve been missing shooting since I broke my wrist over a week ago so I thought it would be funny to do my version of the TTPD album cover.
Pulled out the trusty tripod and this is what I got. Not perfect but it’s my own version.

Can’t wait to get back to photographing epic dance floors 🪩
For now I will reminisce about my last few weddings.

Morgan & her bass + Sandy 🎼🐴

Last nights senior portrait session was absolutely beautiful. Morgan had a vision of taking photos with her bass and a horse. She reached out to the barn I ride at and was given my info.
The vision was there and it came out even more perfect than I could have imagined. Warm sunshine, green grass, horse nuzzles, soft notes all playing together.

One month (+1 day) since this sweet first touch. 🤝💖
Shelby and Ty opted out for a first look but still wanted to have a moment alone together so they could calm their nerves and say a prayer.

Moments like these are so special and slow the day down for the couple. It’s all about being together in the moment.
