Incredibly grateful to my patient that trusted me with her care and opportunity to share her story. ⁣

What started out as a “smaller birthmark” slowly evolved over time to be diagnosed as a melanoma. For my patient, she loved sun exposure, and like so many of us felt like sunscreen was not important as an African-American.⁣

However, her suspicious lesion exhibited several signs that we all need to remember to look out for:⁣

What matters most is that God had a bigger plan for me.⁣
