Meet LUCA - one of four additions this Fall to our fireplace mantel collection with Material Bespoke Stone + Tile - inspired by my trip to Rome and the beautiful carved marble there, this piece is a study in profiles. Due to the depth of the block, deep profiles allow the beauty of marble and adoquin to be revealed on the face. I am excited to see this in one of our own projects coming soon and will definitely take you along for the installation. The halls are decked and now we turn our attention to the gift list and wrapping!! Perfect, pretty packages under the tree make me happy and I hope to wrap a few this weekend amid unpacking boxes from our move. Have you started yet? 24 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

A few moments of peace before we barrel toward the next holiday. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and are ready for a bustling and busy December. We plan to put finishing touches on our Christmas decor and do more prepping for winter in our garden and pastures. Only 29 days until Christmas!!

When a designer creates a room, it is often with the imagination of the people who will fill it once we are gone. May these rooms provide lifelong memories for their people. Let’s get ready for the holidays !!! Nothing like arriving back home from Thanksgiving to a beautifully decorated home with simple and elegant holiday decor. We love bringing a little cheer to the home of favorite clients each year and know we are creating the backdrop for their family memories through the years. I always remember Christmas lunch at my grandmothers table and how her prettiest china and crystal were on display for that special meal. What memories are you creating this season??

I love wallpaper. I love portraits. Our full time move to Flintlock has created an opportunity for me to re-think our art collection in concert with several wallpapers installed at Flintlock over the past two years.

I often tell my clients they aren’t allowed on our installations and after spending the day alone in my design process yesterday I remember why. The chaos of an installation often clouds the creative voice I need to hear in my head to do my best work. I can’t talk to clients or be observed working because it blocks my creativity. A day alone trying different pieces in each room yesterday provided me with no interruptions and the ability to work at my own pace and with no timeline or observation by others. I can’t wait to see how our new home comes into her own. Flintlock is special only because of the beauty of the place. What is outside the windows is where the true beauty lies. I can only hope the memories we create here are even better than the ones we have left behind at Juniper.

Thanks to all of you for following along on this ride of downsizing and empty nesting for the McGaha family. It’s going to be a fun adventure and for those concerned about whether our design studio will change with my move, not to worry. I commute to Dallas each day to continue our work of designing for the most amazing and generous clients ever. It’s a wonderful life 💚

This group works so incredibly hard, day in and day out, for our clients. They obsess over the tiniest details, lose sleep over challenges and work endless hours to share their creative talents on our projects making design dreams come true. I can’t express how grateful I am for them and how much they love coming to work with EACH OTHER every day. We laugh …. A lot! Had the joy to tour with il granito the opening night and experience the beauty, blood, sweat and tears that goes into a Showhouse. Each design is better than the next and these designers pulled off impossible feats in each room. Taking a space and breathing life into it with skill and imagination is what each of these people does on a daily basis. What seems daunting to others is just an everyday, exciting challenge to designers. Go see it if you are in Dallas - I have made a highlight showing what I was able to photograph the evening of the opening but so many spaces were packed with people or not able to be seen due to the darkness (From the Ground Up Landscape) - and as always, this Showhouse supports the kids. Locally, Dwell with Dignity benefits from each ticket sale and the proceeds from a showhouse goes to charity. Bravo to my fellow designers and friends 🎉🎉

What a week::
1. Returned from High Point to a busy week of work in the studio
2. Attended the stellar showroom of with design friends and found great items for a project
3. Did site walks for our lake projects and saw great progress since my last visit
4. Wallpaper finally going in at project Potomac
5. Cuddled my pups and my main man
6. Started back at the gym after 6 months of nursing an injury
7. Now off to Mexico City this weekend for summit and to explore the architecture and creativity in Mexico

It’s our last day High Point Market and we are running fast to catch all the latest intros in our manufacturers’ showrooms before we dash back to Dallas! It’s definitely been a whirlwind of a weekend and I am so grateful for my amazing partners and Wildwood Home - thank you for being the best! Years of hard work coming to fruition this market as we launch Denise McGaha for Vervain High Point Market - the grouse pattern shown here in the Wildwood Home showroom is a favorite and I can’t wait to show you the other colorways. ABOUT LAST NIGHT :: Wildwood Home hosted a beautiful dinner for me last evening and shared our new collaboration with the New York design community. The location (), the food, the company and the laughter were all ones for the memory book. The perfect way to start off the Fall design season in NY.

We are hiring for a Sr Designer role in our firm. Candidates must have 5-10 years experience and a degree in Interior Design or Architecture.

DMI offers full benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401K.

Candidate will manage projects and be responsible for their own team. Management skills are a must.
