What in the world are womanists up to? 🌍 Our Rev. Dr. Irie L. Session was the guest preacher at the 30th Commemoration of The MAAFA at the St. Paul Community Baptist Church (@spcbcbkny) in Brooklyn, NY on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The Commemoration theme, "Reclaiming the Village: Restorying Our Past," was a beautiful prophetic connection to The Gathering's annual theme of "Ubuntu" and our monthly theme "We The People." 💫

The term MAAFA (pronounced Mah- AH-fah) is a Kiswahili word which gives definition to the catastrophic event experienced by millions of African people during the middle passage journey from Africa bound for enslavement in the Americas.
