If I ever rolled my ankle then tumbled down a flight of stairs into a sea of society during an intermission at the symphony orchestra hall again this is the dress I would want to be wearing instead of a bootleg Gunne Sax.

This incredible woman is 84 years old today. Happy Birthday Mom! How blessed are we to have such a loving kind mother and lady as you are. Even more so now that I do understand just how fortunate and still be able to ‘thank you’ and tell you how much I love you. 💕😊🛸🌞

Why do I believe in something greater than myself? Because there is a common good in everyone of us. I believe this. I’ve seen people completely change if they genuinely want to. The key is want to. That’s usually motived by pain or discomfort.
Today my front tire literally popped going 75 on HW 35 into Downtown Dallas. Several cars almost collided with me trying to get over from the fast lane. I got this far till I couldn’t go any farther the tire was in shreds. The nearest exit off was 1/2 mile away. was coming, but my location was kind vague. I can change a tire but I wasn’t quite strong enough to get the lugs off. This man passed me then backed up and got out to just to help me. His name is Jose. He is literally sitting in the highway lane because there was hardly a breakdown lane being on that bridge. This is the situation we hear about when people get killed doing this kind of work because cars are wizzing by at highway speeds. Still he was kind enough to stop his day to help a stranger. We had a complete language barrier but humanity from our hearts has no barriers. THANK YOU Jose. He even refused my cash but he could tell even with our language barrier he was going to fu***ng take it. God Bless You Jose always. Stay on the sunny side of life.

4 years this month. How did I do the impossible? One day at a time. What took me so long? I couldn’t imagine being able to cope without the bad s**t while in the pursuit of happiness or what ever I thought that would make me happy was. The truth is happiness becomes the bi-product of live and let live, and pausing to become present enough right now to realize just how much we actually do have opposed to what we don’t. This very simple realization gave way to an abundance of options which led the way out of so many of my own self induced dark corners. And this has gifted me with peace and….happiness. Each day as it comes and however it comes. And each day I become more sober I become more of my authentic self. To thine own self be true with gratitude. Just for today.

I photoed this fantastic Lincoln parked in front of a small town pawn shop the other day. It’s owner said it’s been in his family since the 1980’s. The other pic is a painting I saw in Round Top one year. The Eldorado Cadillac version. Rollin

Attended a funeral today in an old Victorian Church in a small Texas town, came home with a junk shop stained glass lampshade.

I thought sobriety was gonna really gonna ‘blow’ but there’s nothing more entertaining or rewarding than a bunch of recovering alcoholics. ‘As found’ in a room of recovery yesterday.

Parent bittersweet milestone moment. Look what is peeking out? The human body is just amazing isn’t it? I have a whole new appreciation for my body becoming two bodies during the whole progression of my pregnancy. Birth, then the big life experience challenge of nurturing an infant, now caring for our little boy. There have been many milestones. This discovery is one of them. 😊

All my public school art teachers wore lethal piles of beads. Decades of exposure to magic marker fumes will do it to a person.

Through out the past century~before and beyond~it seems like every woman ranked her status by owning feathers and furs. This amped up to ‘stupid’ in the 1960’s and thanks to Lux marketing and the promotion of hyper capitalism, rare exotics became almost a norm of the mainstream. Seems like nothing was sacred enough or protected. Like the tiger who lost at its life, just to be worn to dinner a handful of times then hung on a hanger and forgotten about in a dark closet until that closet was purged. I’m thankful for the laws in place today~that rightfully protect some of these animals from being poached. Over the lifetime of my career~I’ve seen industrial sized dumpsters full of exotic furs cycle through the rag circuit. It’s quite breathtaking but in a heartfelt painful way. I do sell fur etc at my shops only because the best I can do is to recycle the damage done and offer the vintage alternative since everyone has a different opinion on this controversial matter. What we can do is be mindful of the sacrifices of these innocent animals and their rights to their own God given gifts and simply exist and thrive in their environments today. This coat is beautiful and exquisite~belongs to a respected client~not mine and not legal to sell. Thankfully.

Last week our beloved Vernon simply left this place called Earth to sit among the many stars. A true graduate of the master spiritual plane of internal enterprise. In all my life I can say with sober honesty I have never met a person who even came close to how kind, gentle, precious, talented, a brilliant mind and a overly gracious heart. He was in abundance of all of this. Vernon had every reason to be bitter and mean he endured and overcame unthinkable things during his childhood that most couldn’t. He was a person who made a commitment through his trauma to be empathetic, kind, and at service. These acts in turn gave him a true sense of happiness and one hell of a sense of humor that became the bi products of his contributions. His depth was like propelling off a cliff. He hardly ever deposited his paychecks and when he did he spent the money on his friends. He was my friend in the corner of my eye waiting to make eye contact just to word ‘I got you.’ Seriously. If you needed him, there he was. He loved and he needed to be needed. He was one big kid with a lot of feelings. He needed a lot of hugs. And gave them freely. I just can’t believe he’s gone. I haven’t processed this loss. I just can’t.

Talking Heads. The big thing that is so special about my mother is the simplicity of her very kind heart. One joy of many she has shared over the stretch of time with her kids and now our kids has been a little tradition of taking a walk though a local park and feeding the ducks and the few geese who mingle around. I love you Mom and thank you. Happy Mother’s Day. We have been so blessed by your acts of kindness and your thoughtfulness.
