39 million adults in the U.S. have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Sleep apnea isn't just louder snoring β it's a potentially serious condition linked to heart, kidney, and metabolic health complications.
The good news is that there are several options for treatment that will help your sleep and improve your quality of life (and do the same for anyone else in the household affected by it!).
The first step is to contact us for a consultation. Dr. Bates will perform a detailed examination and determine whether your sleep-disordered breathing is snoring or OSA. Then he'll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan.
Don't wait another sleepless night β give us a call today.
Q. My dentist said I need bone grafting before I can get my dental implants. What does that mean?
Dr. Bates: When teeth are missing for a significant period of time, the underlying jaw bone can deteriorate. When there is not enough jaw bone structure to support dental implants, we use bone grafting to replace the missing jaw bone. We are then able to place implants that are strong and long lasting to restore functionality as well as aesthetic appearance.
If you have questions about bone grafting or dental implants, we're happy to answer them. Just give us a call!
If you've been avoiding your favorite foods due to missing teeth or loose dentures, we've got good news for you! Dental implants not only look and feel like natural teeth, they're strong enough for you to enjoy all the foods you love without worry. π
Wondering if dental implants are right for you? We're happy to meet with you to discuss all your options.

Q: How does cleft palate happen and how can you treat it?
A: During early pregnancy, separate areas of the face develop individually and then join together. In about 1 of every 700 babies in the United States, the sections do not join properly resulting in a cleft in the lip and/or in the palate (the roof of the mouth).
Cleft lips and palates impact the ability to properly eat and speak as well as affecting facial appearance. Cleft palates can also affect breathing.
While every patient is different, in most cases, surgery is recommended. When surgery is done by an experienced, qualified oral and maxillofacial surgeon such as Dr. Bates, the results can be quite positive.
