9 years ago Dallas Legends Soccer Academy opened up their skills academy in Dallas, using an indoor turf baseball facility. Our academy was built upon the 25+ year legacy of Kansas City Legends in KC & our toddler program HappyFeet Dallas that started in 2014.

We experimented, we learned, we were knocked back by the COVID shutdown, and we chose to grow organically, rather than buy teams. In 2020 we partnered with The Soccer Box Dallas to have a permanent indoor home for our skills program, which has been a huge catalyst for growth, because parents are seeing results. We've since won tournaments and we've won leagues. Most of those teams have players that started with us when they were 5 or 6 years old, some were 2 years old & started in HappyFeet - that tells you something doesn't it?

We have progressively matured, going from beginnings in the PSA recreational league, to now having teams in the Dallas Elite League, Texas Club Soccer League, Regional Premier League, and Plano Premier Invitational League. Our goal for 2024 was to qualify boys and girls teams for Classic League, a league that has been considered by many to be the diamond of leagues in the Dallas region that all clubs should aspire for.

We have a long ways to go with the acronym-city of leagues that have been added to the NTX landscape since we first started our journey in 2015. But we are so proud of our 13B Bobcats, 13G Lady Bobcats, & 12B Super Eagles all qualifying for their respective Classic Leagues this summer! At the end of July our 14B Revolution team will also try and qualify.

Well done to all of our qualified teams to date, and good luck Revolution in a week or so.

Game 4 in the books, along with a visit to Windsor Castle.

The boys pulled out a 4-3 victory against Beaconsfield Town FC in a tough but fairly contested game. They leave the UK today, with a 3 & 1 record. I am very proud of their achievements, and I know they have learned a lot, with many things we can learn from & build on.

Primary take-aways...
- SuperClubs National Team puts on a fantastic tour
- pulling 2 Waco Texans, 2 KC Legends & 5 Dallas Legends into a team, never having met before arriving in the UK, and then trying to play UK teams that have been playing together consistently, is challenging
- bringing a group on these week long trips, bonding on & off the field, is a fantastic experience for the players
- the UK teams play tougher. Not necessarily dirtier, but certainly tougher.
- Jersey pulling seems to be considered part of the game in the UK. Called by the ref when seen, but often unseen.
- the UK teams stay small sided for 1-2 years longer than our US teams
- our boys, as a collective group, were technically better on the ball, in a 1v1 situation, than their UK peers.
- the UK teams were very urgent. Playing fast at all times, throw ins, free kicks, and in general speed of play.
- the UK teams off the ball runs were very effective & intelligent, not just running into spaces, but running into traffic as well, and in both cases to pull our marking player, creating space for another opposing player to then run into that undefended space.

A great experience. Now we prep for the Fall.

Game 3 in the books against Bedfont Town. One thing that is very apparent in these games is that the British kids do NOT want to be beaten by a bunch of Americans lol. And our kids have high expectations of themselves, despite the fact that the British kids play soccer as much as Canadian kids play hockey. There is no baseball, basketball, etc to interfere... it's soccer, soccer, soccer over here.

The game format was a bit messy yesterday, playing 2 different teams, a younger B & a similarly aged A. It was supposed to be two halves, then another quarter was tacked on because the Brits were losing. The final game results are up for debate but across the 5 quarters the score was 7-5 us, so we'll claim it lol. In summary, our boys play yesterday was excellent.

Game 2 in the books... Standings... USA 1, UK 1. Very tough game against The New Saints. Their men's team won the Welsh Premier League by 33 points last season and are in the UEFA Champions League this coming season. Very good facilities, coaches, the whole deal... read their back story... if you think Manchester City is buying their way to Championships, read up on TNS!

Game 2 was preceded by a training session at the Welsh FA training center Collier Park, and a visit to Wrexham. Super fun!

Fun day at Old Trafford, training at Tranmere Rovers, then a quick visit to Anfield. Good day.
