MathIntensity
We specialize in building solid math foundations for kids elementary thru 12th grade.
We meet kids exactly where they are, teach them concepts that should've been mastered in previous years, then bring them up to grade level at their own pace. We help struggling students regain their self-confidence by rebuilding their math foundation one concept at a time.

FREE School Clothes 💜
If you know of a high school girl, size 18-22, who couldn’t afford school clothes this year, please inbox me. I have a huge stack of super nice clothes that I would love to offer her. Many of them still have tags on them. I will not give them to an adult. We’re giving them away with school in mind. Mesquite area.
It took me a second! 😂
Math tutoring helps make learning stress-free. Indeed, when a student learns to change his or her own perceptions from that of anxiety to fun and understanding, then math becomes a stress-free experience.
Patience is the key and one of the reasons why hiring a math tutor works so well for struggling students. In fact, math tutors know that the best way to get results is to allow your child to work at his or her own speed. They will not be rushed or feel rushed as they might in a classroom environment.
Always make sure your child gets enough sleep the night before a test. His or her memory recall will be much better if he or she has had enough rest. In a scientific study, people who got enough sleep before taking a math test did better than those who stayed up all night studying.
Math tutors are math specialists who have a great deal of knowledge and understanding of this difficult subject. This makes them especially good at explaining difficult concepts and presenting them in a pragmatic and easily understood way.
Math tutors know all of the mathematical secrets and "shortcuts" that can simplify complex ideas and even make them fun! Yes, math can be fun; leave it to a math tutor, who is always enthusiastic and excited about math to make math fun and completely comprehendible.
Did you know 7 is considered a magical number? There are 7 days of the week, 7 wonders of the world, 7 deadly sins, 7 colors in the rainbow, 7 pillars of wisdom, 7 seas, and 7 dwarves! This may be because 7 is mathematically unique, as it is the only number under 10 that can you cannot multiply or divide to keep within group.
Students who are tutored for around 4 hours a week show gains as high as six months in reading and even more in math. Tutoring can help your student catch up as well as even leapfrog past their peers.
A testing tutor can quickly assess a student’s strengths and weaknesses and work on issues such as math formulas and learning to pick the essential information from vocabulary passages. A tutor will spend more time trying to improve deficient areas than drilling in areas where the student is already proficient.
Our study specific test prep and small group study sessions can help students to tackle particular challenging subjects. Just a few areas of study that we help students to address include writing, math and reading – plus we address test taking anxiety and test taking skills too.
Hiring a math tutor is not about making your child a math genius but about helping him or her more skillfully navigate the language of math. Tutoring can teach him or her a new understanding and respect for this challenging subject and demonstrate the right way to approach it.

WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO:
Hi. My name is Candace Chatmon and I’m the owner/founder of MathIntensity in Dallas, Texas. I’ve been helping teens understand Algebra & Geometry, since 2010. I’m just a normal, educated person who happens to love math. I saw a hole in the educational system and decided to fill it. My goal is to positively impact as many kids as I possibly can in the time God chooses to grant me to do it. I will do anything to help them succeed. I refuse to let so many of them remain crippled and negatively affected by math a moment longer if I can help it.
HOW WE DO IT:
We host 1:1 math intensives, which is outside of the norm, but highly effective. We go back to math basics (past concepts students need in order to understand what they're learning today). Oftentimes, we're even forced to go back to elementary mathematics, and that's ok... even expected. We fill in the gaps that the schools assumed they'd already mastered, then help students learn in the best manner suited for each individual student. We've been helping teens this way, since 2010, and have experienced tremendous success with every one of them.
Intensives, Defined:
in·ten·sive
adjective
concentrated on a single area or subject or into a short time; very thorough or vigorous.
synonyms: thorough, in-depth, concentrated, rigorous, exhaustive, all-out, concerted, thoroughgoing
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT:
- Mathintensity is not for everyone. Your teen must qualify, but qualifying is easy.
- We focus primarily on 7th grade math thru Algebra I and SAT/ACT readiness
- Our program is individualized, 1:1 assistance.
- We fill in previous learning gaps before moving forward.
- We are not a band-aid. We teach full subject concepts.
- We formulate methods of explanation based on the child's personal interests and hobbies.
- We are INTENSE, but encouraging. Hard work, but extremely rewarding.
- We typically do not charge by the hour. You pay for results. at a reasonable, flat rate.
And remember... There's no such thing as can't. Your child just hasn't learned math in a way he’s been able to understand it yet.
