Vintage 1930's French Art Deco marble clock, finished on all sides, with beautiful stone quality and craftsmanship.
The clock itself is an asymmetric hexagonal form featuring a circular face with glass dome cover and brass trim. The clock numerals are unique stylized French Art Deco design.
The clock showcases three differing but complementary marble stone types all accented with black.
The piece is a lovely representation of 1930's French Art Deco marble clocks with this example resting on a large rectangular base with angular sides exhibiting various stepped details and with a vertical back piece.
A decorative and engaging obelisk with a circular ball resting on top, supported by a stepped base, adorns the left side of the clock.
The clock mechanism has been professionally cleaned and oiled and the clock keeps perfect time with a lovely ticking sound.
One of the images shows the underside of the female statue revealing a sculptor's mark of "R. Scali". R. Scali was a noted sculptor from the late nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries and created a limited number of Art Deco designs.
The Scali sculpture on the clock is of an Art Deco female form of the period in a flowing dress, with the lady holding and offering grapes in her right hand, made of mixed metals of brass and bronze.
Most of the figure is brass with the woman's top garment in a darker bronze that accents the piece. There is an overall lovely patina to the sculpture, exhibiting some age appropriate wear.
Dimensions for the clock are 23 1/2" wide x 5" deep x 9 1/2" tall. The clock is of a very heavy weight with all of the marble seen on the piece.
All in all it is a very lovely representation of French Art Deco marble clocks of the 1930's era; for inquiries please contact the Gallery at 469-349-DECO (3326).
Afternoon tea anyone? Incredible original 1930's Modernist Art Deco coffee and tea service designed by J. Rivaso of Mexico.
Full and complete coffee and tea service ... eight pieces total including all service pieces ... this magnificent set is presented in solid polished brass!
Each piece is designed in a ribbed column shape with small flourishes on the handles. The oval tray is designed to match with a scalloped edge outer ring and curved handles sporting similar flourishes as the handles.
Expansive set includes a coffee pot with its warming holder, tea pot, separate hot water pot, creamer with lid, sugar with lid, tea bag holder, and tray.
This is a premiere offering as J. Rivaso coffee and tea services of a much smaller scale have been available on 1stDibs in the past ... but none at this moment.
Our set is in very good to excellent original condition with absolutely no dings or dents on any of the pieces and with all lids attached and in proper working order.
The serving tray measures 30 1/2" wide x 18 1/2" deep and is indicative of the overall scale of the service.
Our set is truly one of the most magnificent of vintage 1930's Modernist Art Deco coffee and tea services available in the nation ... if not the world!
Please direct any inquiries to the Gallery at 469-349-DECO (3326).
"Manhattan" cocktail set, circa 1936, designed by noted American Art Deco designer Norman Bel Geddes for the Revere Copper and Brass Company of Rome, NY; marked on the bottom.
This design is considered the "Holy Grail" and ultimate in vintage luxury streamlined Art Deco cocktail sets.
The cocktail shaker evokes the soaring skyscraper motif that had become the symbol of the progressive 1930's era seen in landmark buildings such as Rockefeller Plaza, the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.
The set has become extremely rare and highly collectible. The shaker is accompanied by its matching Manhattan cocktail tray and a pair of Manhattan candlesticks (which are rare).
In near pristine condition, the shaker interior appears to have never been used.
Tray measures 14 1/2" wide x 11 1/2" deep x 7/8" tall. Cocktail shaker measures 13 1/4" tall.
Note: six matching cocktail cups would complete the set; I am still on the hunt for the cups which have become the most challenging to locate.
Here is a fully complete set (shaker, six cups and tray) on 1stDibs:

Custom contemporary sofa crafted for a sound recording studio built in a private residence in Flower Mound, TX.
The custom sofa was completed in time for Christmas and is shown in the Gallery just before being delivered to the client's residence.
Frame made of solid hardwoods to last generations. Dimensions as shown were 92 3/4" wide x 33 5/8" deep x 26" tall.
Expertly upholstered with highest quality dacron wrapped foam and covered in an ultra-luxe naugahyde (faux leather) to provide carefree enjoyment with minimal care requirements.
The high-end naugahyde looks, feels and sounds like leather and offers a more cost competitive option when called for.
The recording studio will be receiving a lot of usage and this choice will hold up exceptionally well and maintain its good looks.
The color selected for the sofa by the designer was absolutely fabulous and made for an eye-popping result. Sofa design by Suffolk Studio Design.

"After" photos of the Envelope Bar ... these are the vertically oriented photos ... see the horizontal photos in the immediate preceeding post.
The preceeding post has more detailed info on the cocktail cabinet as well ... please see it for a complete overview of this gorgeous vintage Art Deco cocktail cabinet refinished to perfection by the artisans of Deco-Dence Gallery & Studio.
The Frisco client's review of our work, completed in August 2020, can be seen on Google here: https://g.co/kgs/7uRsyn
"After" photos of the Envelope Bar after refinishing. Compare to our previous post to see the "before" images. The transformation is almost like magic!
This set of after photos are all horizontal orientation. Another set will be posted that are vertical since Instagram disallows mixing of the two orientations in the same post without auto cropping, which ruins the photo.
The bar is called an Envelope Bar because the various components all open up to create a fabulous cabinet perfect for cocktail parties ... then all folds back together, like an envelope, to a smaller footprint to conserve space when not in use.
It is on casters so as to provide a mobile cocktail center that can be relocated to wherever you need your bartender to serve guests from.
Our bar features real Quartersawn Birdseye Maple for the serving surface in its contrasting yet complementary gorgeous blonde coloration. Most envelope bars had formica serving surfaces so this one is very special.
This cabinet is all original, including its lighting element, Bakelite Martini picks and the chromium juicer.
Deco-Dence uses one of the finest finishing products on the market, an imported Italian resin that is totally water and alcohol impervious.
Meaning this cabinet can host some serious partying for decades to come yet retain its drop dead gorgeous looks!
This project completed in August 2020 and was commissioned by clients in Frisco, TX who are enjoying this beauty in their home.
Here is their review on Google for Deco-Dence Gallery & Studio: https://g.co/kgs/7uRsyn
"Before" pics of a vintage Art Deco Envelope Bar prior to our artisans working their magic to transform this ugly caterpillar into a resplendent Monarch Butterfly!
It was obvious this cocktail cabinet had seen its fair share of hard partying over the decades ... many would consider it nothing more than firewood! Ha ha!
My next post will be of the "after" images ... in all modesty the transformation you will see is utterly astounding.
Why go to these lengths?
1) This style cabinet has become very difficult to source and 2) it is actually incredibly functional even today to serve large gatherings from ... and 3) it is unique for those who wish to set themselves apart from the crowd!
Look for the "after" pics coming up ...
On offer from the Gallery is a classic original 1930's French Art Deco five arm chandelier in solid brass with a Burl Walnut dectagonal center section highlighted by a brass stepped finial.
The chandelier features many of the classic French Art Deco design idioms ... geometrics, flora, stair steps, carved details and ornamental flourishes, stylized designs, Egyptian influences, etc.
The five fixtures have hexagonal frosted glass shades with classic French Deco geometric motifs and emit a lovely and very pleasing diffused effect.
The chandelier itself measures about 20-21" tall with a diameter of 26".
The ceiling canopy, (the canopy itself along with the decorative rod and its decorative hanger part) measures 13 1/2" long.
The drop can be adjusted by adding a longer brass chain.
It is a relatively heavy piece given its solid brass construction, the five glass shades and the Burl Walnut wood central piece.
A quality piece in overall excellent original condition rewired to American standards.
Please contact the Gallery at 469-349-DECO (3326) with questions or for personal assistance.
Happy Valentine's Day to all the lovers out there ... that should be just about everyone reading this! ❤🥂🍾🎈⚘💋💘🌹💑
