Our next featured artist is Kat Morse M. K. Wellington Art We are so excited to have her join in the boutique. She has a ton of talents and can also do custom work as well. My name is Katherine W. Morse, Katie for short. I started learning the art of photography in 1997 under the direction of Robert Creamer at Oldfields School in Maryland. I learned to use a Nikon N50, then moved to an N70. My first digital camera was a D80; now I work with a D5200. I use a filter system from Cokin and rarely ever mess with images in the digital format. Instead, I use the techniques I learned in the darkroom and apply them old-fashioned, allowing me to create depth and high contrast. While attending Sweet Briar College, I took a summer color photography course to print in color at the Corcoran in Washington, DC. Also, while at Sweet Briar, I got to take several classes, including alternative photography with John Morgan. He is the one who showed me a whole new world to use not only my photography but also my skills with oil pastels, acrylic paint, and so forth.
I have been creating art from beer labels, mix media, and pointillism in recent years to working with vinyl on koozies, towels, garden flags as well as other items like glass blocks; and creating unique artworks to become conversation pieces. When I get an idea, I run with it for as long as the inspiration is there. Crafting and more have allowed me to expand my creative talents in other ways.

I have been making jewelry for over 15 years, since first being inspired while visiting Barcelona, Spain. While exploring this beautiful city, I discovered a small street where I found all the supplies that I needed to start… and my life changed!
As my craft improved, I began selling to my friends in Mexico City and since arriving in the USA I have been operating Papaya Arts and also selling my award winner Jewelry creations on Art Shows and galleries. Always experimenting with new tools and techniques, I love working with Sterling Silver and Cooper, gemstones and the beautiful Sea Glass that I hand collected from Lake Erie, where I lived for 14 years. All of my products are handcrafted by me, as well as artisans and craftsmen from over 30 countries around the world.
I consider Papaya Arts a global fair-trade store, ensuring that the artisans and craftsmen are paid fair price for their work. Papaya Arts offering includes Clothing from Italy, India, Mexico and Canada. Purses and handbags along with other accessories to compliment your wardrobe.

Good Evening! We are excited to share another amazing small business that will be joining us very soon at Nautical Treasures Boutique On Broad! Please join me in welcoming Coastal Creations VIP! We met last year and I knew one day we would work together. She is such a sweet lady and her vision and business is amazing! She goes above and beyond to make whatever her customers need and listens and understands. We are so excited and can't wait!!

Coastal Creations is owned and operated by Jordan Todd. What started out as just a hobby, turned into a full on side business that keeps growing! Along with a small business owner, she is a commercial banker by day and a wife/mommy by night! Her son, Cullen really is the one who runs the show but Jordan does all the work behind the scenes. Jordan recently started her own T-shirt line known as Southern Roost Clothing Company, and it has taken off with the coastal designs she makes herself! Coastal Creations is steadily growing with offering customized T-shirts for both personal and local businesses, cups, license plates, bags, koozies, signs, yard signs, banners and all your needs in a one stop shop!

Sometimes it’s all about the details! A little bit of glaze makes the details pop on the nightstand on the left - see the difference? Same with the hardware- a little distressing and the details pop! This pair is coming along and will be available soon at Nauticaltreasuresonbroad!

Hi Everyone! Today has been a GREAT day! We finally have the outcome we have been patiently waiting on. We will be taking occupancy in Darien September 1st! It's been challenging to say the least but we got here! With the support of so many people and staying patient and the town of Darien coming together to rally WE DID IT! I'm so proud of everyone who stuck by me! I won't say too much about the situation because most everyone knows that this was completely out of our hands.

Good evening everyone!

Just wanted to give an update here about what’s happening! We were supposed to take occupancy next Wednesday the 17th in the boutique, but we have another delay that is out of our control. Most of us who know the situation understand how disappointing this is. Please know that I am doing everything in my power and will not let this setback discourage the town of Darien, Artists, Employees and future customers. We have such a strong community and loyal followers and I’m so proud and grateful for all of you and your support. Please message me directly if you have any questions. We will continue to move forward and hopefully this issue will resolve itself within the next couple weeks.

Our next featured artist is also one of our soon to be employees of the Boutique and we are so lucky to have her!! I would like to showcase Angie Owens Art! Angie has become such a dear friend to me and I'm so happy to be able to share her beautiful art with you! Please Like, Follow & Share!!

Angie, who is excited to be an enthusiastic employee, is also a self proclaimed, "expressive painter". She has lived in McIntosh county over 55 years and resides now with her husband, one of her two children and 4 dogs including two rescues. She paints with pastels, watercolor and acrylics and her favorite subjects are animals. She began painting at 36 and is convinced God gave her the talent to help her through a particularly hard time in her life. Angie's favorite art quote is from Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, "A painter paints the appearance of things, not their objective correctness, in fact he creates new appearances of things."

Our next featured artist is Holton Media. Michelle captures some amazing photography images and we are so excited to have her in Nautical Treasures Boutique on Broad. My mom is the inspiration for my photography. Back in 2016, she was in a nursing home with a rare degenerative disease. One day, I went to visit her and showed her a picture of a sunrise I had taken that week. She gave me the biggest smile I had seen in a long time. From that point forward, I would try to take new pictures and bring them to her to see. We eventually printed some of them as puzzles that we would put together. She passed away in 2020, but I continued taking nature pictures in memory of her. I started officially selling my photography in 2020 after entering my first photography show! I was fortunate enough to have 2 images place in that show and that sparked my desire to start selling prints of my work! I want my work to represent two things. The first being able to capture the beauty that God has created within my photographs and the second to bring people the same joy that my sunrise image brought to my mom on that very first day. If one of my images can give someone that same joy, then it’s worth it.

Michelle is working on some really cool items such as custom photo tumblers. She is hoping to find a good puzzle maker to be able to sell those as well. In addition to all that exciting news, she has also been invited to have her very own photography exhibition in Brunswick, Georgia that will be on display through July and in SoGlo Gallery in the month of August. There will be all new inventory (framed, canvas, and more) and never before seen images in these shows that will be coming soon to Nautical Treasures Boutique On Broad! The Kiki Art Story:

Artist Kirsten Stimmel (aka Kiki) is a native Atlantan with deep roots in the Low Country who currently lives in coastal McIntosh County, Georgia with her mother, 3 dogs and 7 cats. Finding herself at a crossroads in life during the pandemic, she decided to try her hand at painting the animals she loves, including current and
past fur babies.

A collector of folk art for many years, Kiki’s self-taught and whimsical painting style matches the way she sees the animals in her world: a little bit naughty and a whole lot of fun! Working in acrylics on paper, wood and canvas, Kiki loves to
include hidden messages in some of her work and likes to use a bit of the absurd in the details (look for her high heel-wearing alligators!).

Sprinkled throughout her work is her sense of humor, love for all things French (note the striped Breton jerseys on some of her subjects) and the bright colors that make her happy. When not herding cats or painting, Kiki works as a marketing consultant from her cottage on the GA coast.

Our next featured artist is Vintage Reimagined LLC - Painted by Heather. Heather started painting furniture 25+ years ago as a newlywed looking to make hand-me-down furniture beautiful for her first home. She has been painting ever since! She will tell you that painting is her therapy. Heather LOVES reimagining and transforming old, discarded or broken furniture into something gorgeous that someone will love for their home. Her husband, Marty, helps with fixing furniture, and she is the painter. Heather has been reimagining and selling furniture in Brunswick for a few years now, and is so excited to be expanding to Darien! Nautical Treasures Boutique on Broad has had the opportunity to tour her workshop and a couple of her storage facilities and you are going to be in for a treat!! We are so happy to have her join us and she has become such a wonderful friend! Please follow her and support her!

Our next featured artist is Elise Farmer of Paint Horse Studio. Her studio is located in Darien, GA. She's been a professional Artist for about 45 years. Our next vendor spotlight is My Burlap Crush Peggy Luukkonen

Peggy has been making things all her life and has especially had fun creating gifts for family and friends for decades. She grew up on a farm so to keep from getting bored in the 70's she liked to make things. Her mom was a teacher and very creative. Being very thankful that she taught her how to sew and let her just create! In college, she started making Christmas gifts for family because it allowed to give her something when she didn’t have the money to buy anything. It grew into making a Christmas craft every year for church staff, co-workers, family, and friends for over 40 years now. Her work represents the that she loves being able to use her creative talents to help others. “I made my first burlap door hanger for a friend’s birthday in 2015. My friend says to me, “You should make these and sell these!”, I told her that I never would want to make a business. A few weeks later a co-worker was in a horrific automobile accident, and they were collecting funds for her recovery. It was close to Valentines Day, so I decided to make and sell heart Door Hangers as a fundraiser for her. I think I sold 60 door hangers, and I was hooked. Today I donate $10 from the sale of each door hanger to Hope 1312, a local nonprofit that supports local foster care families. I love the Darien community and am thankful for each sale I make because it allows me to give back to our community in a greater way. It truly is why I do what I do.

I started doing art/crafts as an outlet for stress. I started out making cakes ( while in nursing school). I progressed into painting, wood, jewelry, hats, tumblers!

We are deeply saddened by the fire at the Historic Butler Island Plantation last night. Thank you to all the First responders and thankful no one was injured. We all have the community in our thoughts and prayers today.

Last week, I mentioned that we were going to start spotlighting our amazing, talented artists and introduce each one to you prior to opening. We would like to introduce Wash Your Worries!
