20 Sep 2024 -POW MIA Recognition Day
While we have come a long way from our past conflicts, we must never forget why many do the mission of Combat Rescue.
Remembrance, Reverence, Reflect pdm
In solemn reverence, we gather today,
To honor the brave who endured night and days of gray.
Captive and missing, in battles, conflicts, countries far and wide,
Their courage and sacrifice we shall hold with pride.
A table set for one, a symbol of their plight,
Round to show concern, pure cloth in white.
A rose stands alone, red as the blood they shed,
While ribbons of yellow keep hope from being dead.
A slice of lemon for fate’s bitter sting,
Salt for the tears that their absence brings.
A candle burns bright, a beacon in the night,
Guiding them homeward with its gentle light.
Chairs remain empty, glasses turned down,
In our hearts and minds, they will always wear a crown.
Greedom’s sweet song is sung by the few,
Who gave all they had for the red, white, and blue.
Let us remember on this sacred day,
The heroes who fought and those still away.
With flags held high and voices strong,
We vow to remember them all lifelong.

US Coast Guard’s specialized Rescue Swimmer or the official name is Aviation Survival Technician (AST). This one of the Coast Guard’s most challenging program.
Here you see, AST3 Jayson Evans conducting hoist operations from a helicopter in preparation to recover a survivor out of the water. He trained with SFTA in 2019.
The Rescue Swimmer school, as seen in 2006 movie “The Guardian” gives you a glimpse of the mindset & fitness level that is required. You will learn how to deal with emergencies working in the water as well as on land. The climate & terrain you will work in will vary from hot to cold & ocean to mountain cliffs. The medical training includes an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course that gets you ready to treat patient emergencies. AST’s learn how to conduct themselves as a member of the helicopter crew during air operations training.
To become a Rescue Swimmer in the USCG requires commitment, dedication, and being goal oriented, not to mention the high level of physical fitness required. If you want this job but are not ready now…well, let’s get started.
Go visit your local US Coast Guard recruiter.
There are multiple ways for each one of us to engage with this topic 💣😵😵💣😵…such as posting current events, stop purchasing products that support “izrail” or calling you Congress members. These are only a few examples. Just look up BOYCOTT Izrail (you can correct you spelling) 🤭
A little info about USAF PARARESCUE
Continuing on with PJ history
Distinctive recognition came to Pararescuemen in early 1966. General John P. McConnell, then Air Force Chief of Staff, approved the wearing of the maroon beret.
The maroon beret symbolizes the blood sacrificed by Pararescuemen and their devotion to duty by aiding others in distress.
"That Others May Live" is a daily reality.
This Saturday 24 September 2022 come join us for some fun.

USAF Combat Rescue Officer (CRO) Lt Malachi Bellah
Lt. Bellah, Would you give us an idea of your training for this challenging program? I attended the basic Pararescue Jumper and Survival Orientation Course (PJOC) at Kirtland AFB, NM. In 2008 and the Advanced PJOC (APJOC) at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ course in 2009 while in high school. After graduating highschool I went to a BSN nursing school and became a Registered Nurse (RN) and worked in the Emergency Department (ED) for a couple years before seriously considering becoming a Combat Rescue Officer (CRO). I continued working the ED while beginning the USAF officer process through the officer selection (Phase 2) and Officer Training School (OTS). Attended the USAF’s Special Warefare Assessment and Selection (A&S) in March of 2020 which allowed me to continue with the CRO Pipeline of follow on schools.
I am stationed in Portland, OR at the 304th Rescue Squadron (RQS).
The pipeline schools included Pre-dive, Combat Dive School, Army Airborne, Survival and Resistance School, Military Free Fall, and PJU. I graduated the CRO program on 7 Jan 2022.
🔺What programs did you do to prepare you for A&S and the pipeline? To train for A&S I fell back my prior training for officer selection and used the modified “be a PJ” Indoc workout for. I also went to South Florida Tactical Athlete (SFTA) weekend clinic.
🔺What or where were your most challenging school or event? Weight bearing exercises eg. Rucking and rogue worm carries.. were the most difficult for me as I had a background more in endurance.
🔺Did becoming an RN influence any part of your training? Yes. I became an RN 1. To mature while in school 2. To have a medical background 3. To challenge myself in a stressful environment.
🔺What advice would you give someone that wants to become a CRO? Count the cost. Know that once you pull the trigger you will live and breathe training. Strengthen you leadership weaknesses. You will have to say no to a lot of things but its all about delayed gratification. You can do it with the right discipline and mindset.
Merry Christmas to all!
Please enjoy this Christmas and New Years holiday season with family & friends.
Our SFTA & NFTA Instructors and Tathletes wish you happiness & prosperity for 2022.
Thanks Alan Sharkany from Candidate Development Training out of Norwalk, CT for sharing this Flight 2022 Instructions.
Family/Friends,
One of my USAF Pararescue buddies who is now an Army Pilot passed this information to me. I truly believe this is a just and worthy cause. Let’s lend a hand to 🇦🇫 those who have sacrificed for us 🇺🇸.
This year, I served/flew in Afghanistan with these 4 men. At present, we are facilitating their achieving FAA Airmen Certificates with a Multi-Engine Land rating, and working with American Airlines & our wholly owned subsidiaries, in an effort to secure job interviews for these seasoned Pilots. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
