Class recommendation for graduating seniors : ANG 107- Genetics & Animal Breeding taught by Dr. Hao Cheng this fall!! This is a major requirement but it’s also really fun because you’ll get to simulate breeding for the best herd!! We recommend taking this class in the fall as you can retake it in the spring if anything happens and still be able to graduate in time. There are still many seats on Schedule Builder! Go go go!

Looking for an internship over the summer? The Animal Behavior and Cognition Lab is looking for undergrads to help with behavioral observation and coding on computer 6-9 hrs/week (paid/volunteer). If interested, please contact [email protected] for more information !🐑

In the spirit of Halloween 🎃, we will be hosting a friendly pet costume contest throughout the week. All species are welcome, so whether your pet’s a fluffy ball of cuteness, a rad reptilian, an authentic aquatic fishie, or literally anything else, this is your chance to show off your animal(s)! 🐶🐱🦎🐟You will also get the chance to vote for your personal favorites via our Instagram story! More details can be found below.😎

In order to be eligible for the friendly competition, please follow the following the rules: 📝
⁃ Costumes should be appropriate and follow the UC Davis Principles of Community
⁃ Must be a current UC Davis student (undergraduate or graduate student)
⁃ One submission/picture per Instagram/Facebook account
⁃ Have to follow our Instagram account!

***We will be accepting the first 20 submissions for the contest! Submissions via DM will be accepted until Wednesday, 10/27 until 5PM. The next ten submissions will still be featured on our Instagram story but will not be part of the contest. We will be doing a bracket-tournament style where you all will have the chance to vote via our story starting on Thursday, 10/28 until Sunday, 10/31. Winners will be announced in a post on Monday, 11/01!***

How to submit:
⁃ DM me a picture of your animal with its name and your UC Davis email

The top 3 submissions will get ASAC swag! The swag is pretty 10/10–you do not want to miss out! We look forward to seeing all of your submissions! Feel free to DM if you have more questions!

When you realize pass times are coming out on October 25th….

YES! They are! Do you have your plans ready and know what classes you should be registering? If not, don’t worry, we got your back! Just make sure that you are booking your appointments NOW with either a Staff Advisor or a Peer Advisor because slots are filling up fast!

Starting next week, Staff Advisors and Peer Advisors will also be hosting limited number of in-person appointments. We will be requiring every student who comes in for appointment to show the advisor their Daily Symptom Survey. In addition, advisors will ensure that desks are sanitized after every appointment and we will have a plastic partitions to ensure everyone’s safety!

Appointments for Fall Quarter will still be remote and hours are the same.

Pass times for Winter 2022 will be announced on October 25th and start on November 1. If you want to prepare for registration, please make an appointment with us EARLY because we are usually really busy when pass times are approaching.

During the month of July, we have six useful webinars to teach you more about being pre-vet, extracurriculares, life in Davis, and most importantly, registering for classes! Congratulations to the Class of 2021 and to our graduating Peer Advisors: Kelsee, Lindsay, and Tammy! It has been a different and interesting school year for sure, but these peers have made the most of it and have helped the Animal Science Department greatly. We are excited to see what the future holds for them!
