Rex Barber Shop

Taking the time to say, "thank you" to all the wonderful people who have contacted our family over the past few months. We have enjoyed hearing the stories and sharing the memories of Rex (our dad) and the barber shop. Rex was a great man. We miss him, but we still have so much of him.

Anyone who contacted us looking for their barber, we have forwarded the information to our employees. Thank you so much for many wonderful years at the barber shop.

With a heavy heart, we are sad to announce that we have had to close Rex’s Barber Shop. After a long, wonderful life, Rex passed away on December 25th. Our family thought we could continue the business after his death, but recently found out that we cannot.

Our wonderful employees will be looking for new jobs. If you would like to know where your barber goes to work, please text Lisa (Rex’s Daughter) at 313-520-8314 or call Doug (Rex’s Son) 734-262-9800 so that they can pass your information on to the barber.

So sorry that we were not able to give more notice. We appreciate the many, many customers who have come into the shop since 1955. We know each of you would have loved to stop by one more time.

Through our tears, we wanted to share that rex passed away Christmas day. He leaves behind a wonderful wife, his extended family, and many friends. He loved the barber shop and will greatly missed.

Rex says, "It's time for a haircut." He will be going to the shop this morning. He is excited to say "hi" to the customers and the employees. He has to look his best to pass out candy on Halloween.

Rex is getting better each day. Thank you to all the customers who have asked how he is doing. He will be coming in for a hair cut as soon as he builds up some more strength.

Rex is thinking it is time for a haircut. After being in the hospital/rehab for a month, he will be heading to the barber shop in the next few days. He can't wait to say "hi" to everyone he sees.

Taking a moment to thank all who have been praying for Rex in the last two weeks. He is on the road to recovery. We're just not sure at this point how long that road will be. For the most part, he is in really good spirits. He just wishes he could be out in his boat fishing. The two things he loves most are his family and the barber shop (employees and customers).

With today being the first day of summer, stop by and get a great haircut.

As we observe Memorial Day on Monday, may we take time to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country making it possible for us to have the freedoms we enjoy in this great land. We also would like to thank Rex, our employees, and all of our customers who have served our country over the years. Thank you for your service.

Thanking the barbers who worked hard yesterday and the customers who waited patiently to get a hair cut. With one barber home sick, it was a very busy day. Happy Valentine's Day. With the warmer weather and sunshine, today would be a perfect day to come get a haircut. Rumor has it that Rex will be coming in this week to get his haircut. He is looking forward to seeing everyone.

Warmer weather is a great time for a hair cut. We open each morning (except Thursdays) at 7:30 am. Rise early and come get a hair cut before gong to work.

Thought for the day...So thankful for employees who show up each and every day, cut a great haircut, and have a great attitude. With Rex not able to work these days, it's so nice to have wonderful friends (employees) who can help get the work done. Not just anyone can fill Rex's shoe behind a barber chair.

As Rex always says....We need your head for our business." This time of year, he is saying "Merry Christmas." It's a time of year when we have the opportunity to visit with family and friends. Each day at the shop, we have the opportunity to visit with family and friends. Some customers have been coming a few months; other customers have been coming for years. Merry Christmas.
