Since January 2023, Michigan had announced Doulas as Medicaid Providers allowing moms to be supported during pregnancy, births, and postpartum care. Payments are covered for both vaginal and Cesareans and up to 6 visits for both prenatal and postpartum. More visits “may” be extended if needed but must be authorized by doctor first.

If you know someone looking for a doula, have them check the WIC directory or their insurance plan to find one that best fit their family needs
