We have been hard at work for the people of Georgia! Here’s a little behind the scenes of the planning session yesterday between our VP of Organizational Management, VP of Voter Services, and VP of Advocacy!
Fact-checking is crucial in the digital age, especially during elections, to prevent the spread of disinformation. By verifying the accuracy of the information we consume, we protect the integrity of the electoral process and ensure that our decisions are based on truth rather than deception.
On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified marking a historic milestone in the fight for women’s suffrage. Today, we honor the perseverance and courage of those who fought for equal rights and the progress that has been made since. Let’s continue to fight for voting rights and a representative democracy for all!

July is home to Disability Pride Month, with today marking the 34th anniversary of the passage of the ADA! The League is committed to protecting the rights of voters with disabilities, today and every day. Just days ago, we saw a win for voters in Ohio, as a federal court struck down a state law that violated the ADA!

CSRA League of Women Voters and their local partner organizations also passed out these flyers to encourage event attendees to contact members of Congress! These flyers have plenty of information to help you take action and advocate for the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act!
The CSRA League of Women Voters partnered with several local organizations including the Divine 9 and the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda to celebrate the John Lewis National Day of Commemoration and Action. Volunteers gave out informative election brochures while encouraging attendees to register to vote and check their voter status! Our local leagues are taking action!

SB189 threatens Georgia voters’ fundamental right to vote by making it easier for conspiracists to file baseless mass voter challenges, among other harmful provisions. SB189 is yet another attack on Georgia voters, and LWVGA will do what it takes to ensure fair representation at the ballot box.
