Among those displaced by conflict, persecution and disasters are nearly 25.9 million refugees and half are under the age of 18. Because developing countries host nearly 85% of refugees the risk of disease and illness expands with poor living conditions.

The MedShare Board of Trustees voted unanimously to honor the legacy of Bob Freeman with the naming of this award.
Robert J. Freeman devoted himself to public service and philanthropy through the Atlanta non-profit community. He worked tirelessly to find ways to empower others. In 1998 Bob and his close friend A. B. Short founded MedShare International. Now in 2019, we are a multi-million dollar non-profit operation that ships many tons of medical supplies and equipment throughout the world.
Bob Freeman represents MedShare’s great example of how the quality of life for people and our planet can be vastly improved by the commitment of time, talent and treasure.
