Today I tried purchasing beverages twice from your store, but was unsuccessful each time. I scrapped the first attempt after waiting in line for nearly 1/2 hour and watching several groups of customers that were ahead of me crowd into the store together with more than a few not wearing masks. The sign on the door clearly states one customer at a time, but your employees are not enforcing this guideline. I thought it safer to come back when it was less busy.

So, I returned a few minutes before closing hoping to purchase our treats. Sadly, your employee refused to serve me after having helped the previous customer who had been waiting with me outside the store. She stated that the shop was now closed and that I had arrived too late. I explained to your employee that it was my second attempt and had tried just a few hours earlier. I also explained that I was a regular, well tipping customer that had been supporting your store even in the earliest weeks of the pandemic when most businesses were closed. She was unmoved, then closed and locked the door.

I understand that it’s challenging to operate a small business during a pandemic and that enforcing health protocols is difficult. Perhaps your young employee feels intimidated or disinclined to request that your patrons follow simple instructions. However, it’s very disappointing to be refused service while trying to be a good citizen by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing and store guidelines.

Although my family enjoys your product and we’ve typically received polite service, I’m not sure if we’ll be returning. My experience tonight left a bitter taste.
