The boot camp–with speakers from PHII, HLN Consulting and Actionable Intelligence for Social Policy (AISP)–offered a structured collaboration and learning opportunity for DMI-funded jurisdictions to impart knowledge and skills for leading data governance work.
We’re thrilled to announce that PHII’s new spring line-up of free e-learning courses for the IIS community is now available through the Informatics Academy! We designed these 7 courses to support the complex daily operational work and systems maintenance of an immunization information systems (IIS) team. Topics covered range from data quality and HL7 messaging to how to conduct immunization evaluation and forecasting activities inside an IIS.
All 7 courses have free enrollment, thanks to funding provided through a CDC cooperative agreement. 💻 Enroll: https://catalog.informaticsacademy.org

Happy 40th Birthday Task Force! 🎊 We’re so proud to be part of The Task Force for Global Health's nearly two dozen programs.
🎉 Celebrating Four Decades of Impact 🎉
Forty years ago today, a small group gathered in Bellagio, Italy. Representing UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank, United Nations Development Programme - UNDP, and the Rockefeller Foundation, they launched The Task Force for Child Survival, a three-person non-profit with Dr. Bill Foege at the helm supported by Dr. Bill Watson and Carol Walters.
In just six years, The Task for Child Survival, which would later become The Task Force for Global Health, had delivered with its partners: four times as many children had been vaccinated, with 80% of the world’s children protected. This jump from 20 percent saved countless lives and was declared the “largest peacetime achievement the world had ever seen” by the head of UNICEF.
With each Task Force accomplishment, more opportunities arose. With each new challenge, the focus was the same: forging strong partnerships that aimed for measurable results. Over the last four decades, the Task Force has grown to a broad portfolio of nearly two dozen programs in more than 150 countries, with expertise in a wide range of global health issues, particularly eliminating diseases, ensuring access to vaccines, and strengthening health systems. We are proud of our accomplishments with an eye towards the future and the evolving needs of our global community. Join us today in celebrating our 40th birthday!

As we near the end of , The Task Force for Global Health recognizes the important contributions of Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith. A pioneering physician and innovator, Dr. Prothrow-Stith introduced the concept that violence should be viewed as a public health issue and a social "disease," shifting the perspective away from considering it solely a criminal justice problem.
Additionally, she championed the notion that a preventive approach is essential in addressing violence. Prothrow-Stith developed The Violence Prevention Curriculum for Adolescents, laying the foundation for subsequent violence prevention curricula in educational settings.
We're thrilled to celebrate the work anniversaries of two PHII staff! Piper Hale, associate director of communications, celebrated her 10th anniversary with PHII. Jimica Tchamako, director of the Requirements Lab, celebrated 9 years.
