Monday, April 8, 2024 - DCSD has announced an Independent Learning Day for a safe community-wide Great American Eclipse event! From 1:45 PM to 4:21 PM, a partial solar eclipse will grace our Georgia skies.

Happy First Day of Spring!
Last week our 4th grade scholars and Dr. Dan from Fernbank Science Center planted 50 native plants in our garden/ plant beds around the horseshoe/ drop-off lane. Our scholars had a great experience learning how to plant outdoors while learning the benefits of native pollinator gardens.

Over 80 students completed the 300-minute reading challenge for October and celebrated with a puzzle party.

The executive director, Bob Boyd, from Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation, Inc stopped by to thank MDLA for collecting $500 in coins for cancer.

Book Character Day was a blast! How many characters do you know?
