Several of Stevenson's Lower Division teachers, administrators, and our Middle Division Math Program Lead, Chantel Kjellgren, participated in a transformative two-day workshop in San Francisco with New Perspectives; Context for Learning Mathematics. During the workshop, attendees delved into problem strings, contextual learning, and strategies for building math fluency and conceptual understanding. A huge thank you to Stevenson's generous parent donor for making this phenomenal experience possible. We’re excited to bring these new insights into the upcoming school year! 📚✏️

Last September, members of the Stevenson girls water polo team were treated to a clinic with Olympic Team Captain and 3-time gold medalist, Maggie Steffens 🤽‍♀️. The experience laid a strong foundation for the Pirates 🏴‍☠️ as they went on to win their second consecutive CCS section title and their first CIF NorCal title 🏆. As the Pirates gear up for another incredible season with their entire starting group returning and new talent joining the ranks, it's inspiring to see Maggie Steffens continue to lead by example 🌟. The USA Women's Olympic Water Polo team 🇺🇸, captained by Steffens, just advanced to the semi-final match in Paris after defeating Hungary 5-4 in the quarterfinals. They’ll be playing Australia on Thursday, August 8 at 10:35 a.m. PT, striving for a historic 4th consecutive gold medal 🥇! !

For two days last week, the Jeff and Beth Young Fields were filled with 48 aspiring college soccer players from throughout Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties for the first annual Monterey County College ID camp. In addition to these amazing student-athletes, we welcomed coaches from Connecticut College, Cal Tech, Cal State Monterey Bay, and Western Reserve Academy. During their time on campus, the college coaches provided challenging training situations and in-depth guidance on the college recruiting process. Big thanks are owed to Naturipe Berry Growers, Monterey Surf Soccer Club, and Tim Allen Realty/Carmel Gives for their incredible generosity as leading sponsors, making this event free for all who attended.

This year, the award went to Barrows Douglas, a dorm that truly illuminated the campus with positivity. They exemplified what it means to be a caring and supportive dorm family.

A special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Fuller-Holloway, proud parents of Cameron, for presenting this meaningful award.
