Recently, OMJ staff organized a job fair at a local employer that is closing their Delaware County location. This employer allowed other local companies to participate in order to help their affected employees find alternative work vs being laid off. Seven employers attended, each offering positions with duties and pay similar to what attendees are currently seeking. The employers were very enthusiastic about the event, with many reporting over 40 leads. They expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the candidates and were pleased to have been invited to participate!
We love connecting employers and job seekers to create a stronger workforce here in Ohio!

Congratulations to Delaware County Child Support Enforcement Agency for being recognized during Child Support Awareness Month! They consistently achieve the highest collection rates in Ohio, collecting 84.75% on average and more than $22.4 million last year.
Today in session, staff from the Delaware County Child Support Enforcement Agency joined the Commissioners in recognizing August as Child Support Awareness Month. The agency provides services to 5,467 children on about 4,000 cases and works with families to access community resources and overcome barriers to paying child support. Delaware County CSEA consistently achieves the highest collection rates in Ohio, collecting 84.75% on average and more than $22.4 million last year.

At the start of a new month, we are calling attention to the fact that Ohio recognizes August as Child Support Awareness Month! Ohio’s child support program, supervised by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, serves nearly 643,000 children statewide. Last week, staff from both Delaware County JFS and Ohio Means Jobs - Delaware County participated in the "Supplies for Scholars" Main Event hosted by the United Way of Delaware County Ohio. Our booth was a resource for families to gather information about our services while waiting for their chance to “shop” for free school supplies. Thanks to all the organizers for their hard work in making this event a success!
Sharing to spread the word about The Wall That Heals Ohio event which will take place September 12-15 at Havener Park. The Wall is a 3/4 scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC and includes a Mobile Education Center. This event is hosted by the Delaware County Veterans Services Commission.
