Happy (almost) New Year!

This is just an end of the year note to all of the people that have supported us in one way or another this year. I will never be able to fully express my gratitude or tell you how much your time, gifts and financial support has meant not only to me, but to a small corner in Chihuahua, Mexico.

This was our first year as a non-profit and we accomplished A LOT. New water heaters, assistance with electric bills, meals, medicine, beds, an industrial fridge, upright freezer, bracelet making with the girls, new soccer balls for the boys, a s’mores party (a first for the kids)... the list goes on and on.

We want to continue to change lives in 2024. This is only possible with the kindness of people like YOU! Thank you does not seem sufficient but I’ll say it anyway - thank you for believing in and supporting this. Lives are being changed. Stay tuned for another great year!

I’m insanely excited to announce that while I will not be accepting Christmas orders, I have been asked to be a part of Little By Little’s bake sale starting December 15th!

My coworker and friend Kadie is my connection and I cannot be more happy to be apart of this endeavor of hers. There will only be 12 pans available and the link to the bake sale will be provided, for now check out the nonprofit that it will benefit!

Little by Little Securing and supplying basic needs to the vastly under-resourced.

Broke out of the momming, working, student, cleaning frenzy being I’ve become and made a pan of cinnamon rolls for Neil! He went to a place KNOWN for their cinnamon rolls and said, “I still like Mrs. Barnhart’s better.” Needless to say they got a pan of rolls for Father’s Day!

Italian Rainbow cookies are a win the 2nd try! The recipe makes 70 cuts, worth a try, the apricot brings a great flavor that compliments the almond….sometimes it takes a time or 2 and kids that don’t feel like a long process to make things work…lol they WILL totally still take credit!
I did double the chocolate and softened the top layer with 2T butter, we love chocolate.

What are some fun bakes for Christmas? I’d love ideas and family recipes to try out with my kids and share with you all! The goal is to encourage us all to bake as a family and enjoy the mess and laughs. I think I definitely want to try Linger cookies and John found a recipe from Austria and Italy that sounded fun.

Princess- ballerina tree for Sharon and Dallas Cowboys tree for the boys…Darth Vader is in the Christmas spirit too.

The last pans of cinnamon rolls for the year…yes, you read correctly….I need time to chill and bake for and with my kids for Christmas. We will post fun recipes that we find as we countdown to Christmas! Sorry no cinnamon roll recipe will be given.

We are officially sold out for Thanksgiving! Watch out in December for Christmas orders to open up.

God always has a reason, a customer’s car battery went out in front of the house while picking up her order and so while we were unsuccessful in jumping the car a guy working at a house across the street helped us do it right! We were able to thank him with the extra pan of rolls that I had just finished.

We have 12 spots open, I will close the sign up tomorrow. These items are kept a at room temp and good for 3-4 days at that temperature. You can freeze, but it must be air tight.

Don’t forget the Pumpkin Bundt, it is topped with a maple butter cream icing, pecans, and bacon!Personally my favorite way to enjoy pumpkin over thanksgiving. $50 feeds at least 10-12 people. I will do a cream cheese maple buttercream if requested, but you MUST refrigerate it.

2nd Update: my Hubs has agreed to do 6 Smoked pecan pies! I have 1 order for it already and am excited to offer 5 more. $20 for a pie. It is AMAZING with the smoky flavor and then top it with bourbon caramel or place it on the side, you will devour that pie!

One more weekend until order reservations open up! We will take orders for Monday-Wednesday the week of thanksgiving due to a need to go cheer up and re-energize post surgery Nana with some fishing and 3 little bundles of joy! They have missed her and pop pop LOTS.

We are gearing up for our November Thanksgiving orders! Pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin bundts with buttercream icing, pecans, and bacon bit, and of course cinnamon rolls! Be ready I will be opening for orders this November for Thanksgiving and then in December for Christmas Break. Be on the watch because we book up crazy FAST!
