"First Friday" in Denton was amazing this weekend! The West Oak Arts District is starting to blossom, and Creative Arts Studio had a great new show and wonderful music.

I'll be serving on the City of Denton Public Arts Comittee for the next two years. Looking forward to it.

New series

Art opening tonight at Oxide Gallery in Denton from 6 to 8. Food and wine will be served. I have two paintings in the show, both of which look much cooler in real life than on a computer screen. Oxide is located on the southwest corner of Carroll and Hickory. Come on out, it's going to be a nice evening.

I'll have two of my Day of the Dead paintings in the October show at Oxide Gallery in Denton. Opening is on Tuesday the 5th. Free wine and food. Come on out. Everytime i've been to one of their openings there's always been a good turnout.

Art Con is in it's 5th year. This year will be my first time to participate. 120 artists (all of whom signed up on line in 13.3 minutes) will go to a warehouse in Dallas where we will make 120 pieces of art. The next day, Oct 23rd, all those pieces will be auctioned for charity. Bids start at $25. There will be food , live bands and booze. Tickets are limited. Best chance to buy original art for your walls, cheap and for a good cause.

Dia de los mu***os, Day of the Dead is coming up. The actual dates coincide with Halloween and continues until Nov 2nd. I'm entering Day of the Dead peices for exhibits at the Bathhouse Cultural Centers annual show in Dallas and at Oxide Gallery in Denton. I should know in the next week which pieces got accepted.

Last ten days to see the paintings at Art Six in Denton, Texas. 9 big paintings in all. The owners did a great job of hanging and presenting the pieces. Art Six is located on Bryan street at Scripture , just a few blocks from Fry Street and Oak.

New show is up for June and July at Artsix coffee house in Denton ! Stop in and take a look. Eight pieces in all. Plus coffee, sandwiches and live entertainment. Artsix is located in a vintage house at the corner of Bryan and Scripture Street in Denton, Texas.
