This week's features one of our Transfer Ambassadors, Niaya Carter! Niaya is a Communication major from Mesquite, Texas. She is a transfer student from Dallas Community College and came to UNT in 2021. What Niaya loves most about UNT is the variety of communities to get involved in and she wanted to be a Transfer Ambassador to inspire others to get involved while encouraging them to reach their goals. "I like being that first friendly face for individuals who are just transferring over, so that they may feel like they found their home."
This week's features one of our Transfer Ambassadors, Kyle Aschoff! Kyle is a Theatre major from Katy, Texas. He is a transfer student from LeTourneau University and came to UNT in 2020. What Kyle loves most about UNT is how easy it is to get involved with the student organizations on campus. Kyle wanted to be a Transfer Ambassador because he wanted to help provide a community for transfer students the same way the Transfer Center has provided for him.
This week's features one of our Transfer Ambassadors, Anushay Atif! Anushay is a Marketing and Philosophy major from Pakistan. She is a transfer student from Collin College and came to UNT in 2019. What Anushay loves most about UNT is the traditions we have here at UNT. “Traditions like the homecoming bonfire, tailgating on the hill and much more! The traditions bring people together and creates a strong sense of community, and I love that.” She wanted to be a Transfer Ambassador because “I know what it was like to be a transfer student, and my Eagle Connections mentor helped me throughout and I just want to share the same help I got with other transfer students because I learned from my mistakes and I want their transition to be easy and welcoming, and being a transfer ambassador means I have that opportunity, so I'm grateful!”
This week's features one of our Transfer Ambassadors, Justin Lumpkin! Justin is a Biology major from Orlando, Florida. He is a transfer student from Cedar Valley Community College and came to UNT in 2019. What Justin loves most about UNT is all of the available resources to make sure students succeed at UNT. He wanted to be a Transfer Ambassador because the Transfer Center helped his transition into UNT be as smooth as possible and he wanted to give other students the same experience.
Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks for all we are blessed with. We would love for you to join us for a wonderful holiday lunch right here at UNT in Bruceteria Dining Hall on Friday, 11/19 @ 12:00pm. Come get a free meal and spend some time with your fellow transfer students! 🦃🎉
This week's features one of our Transfer Ambassadors, Fernanda Chavez Gonzalez! Fernanda is a Bilingual Education major from Durango, Mexico. She is a transfer student from Western Texas College and came to UNT in 2020. What Fernanda loves most about UNT is how unique and diverse the university is, and she wanted to be a Transfer Ambassador because as a transfer student she knows how hard a new beginning can be. “If I can help to make this transition easier, I’ll happily do it!”
Are you ready to experience one of UNT’s biggest homecoming traditions? The Transfer Center is officially inviting you to join us next Friday for the Homecoming Bonfire! We will meet at the Performing Arts Annex by 7:45pm and walk over there as a group. The Bonfire is something that you definitely need to experience as a UNT student. He is a transfer student from North Central Texas College and came to UNT in Fall 2020. What Chris loves most about UNT is all the resources/programs available for students, and he wanted to be a Transfer Ambassador because he wants transfer students get connected with the UNT community.

It’s National Transfer Student Appreciation Week! Join the Transfer Center this week as we celebrate all of UNT’s transfer students with a special event each day!
