Can you see why I always stay away from using darker backdrops!?! This beauty in the audience, volunteered to be my model, and I was talking to the group about backgrounds and what to shy away from… then I took this quick shot, and put it on the big screen… and we had our proof!

🦄🌈4 week fade… 6 washes 🫧Let’s talk fade! My favorite creative direct dye is Elumen Play… and here’s why:

😶‍🌫️ lasts 10-15 washes (5-10 weeks depending on your wash routine) & it fades on tone so when you’re creative color cuties come in, you can paint completely over it without having to remove it every time

🪩 has the BEST shine due to the amount of light it reflects

Funny backstory here… I texted and told her, “Hey, can you bring a jacket with the collar on it to your appointment? I want to turn your head into a snowman.” .
Her response: “Bahahaha, I’m excited.”
My advice, get yourselves clients who are just as crazy as you are; it sure makes the 4 hour appointments a lot of fun! Big thanks to Savannah on this one!!

🤠 I’m here for every new ridiculous color descriptors (even if it’s the same color that most of us have been doing for decades but with a new name).

Exhibit A: “Cowboy Copper”.

According to most of the stylists and clients posting on TikTok, cowboy copper, is the perfect balance between auburn brunette, and copper… It’s more of a lived in red, and seems to be the “gateway“ red/copper for those clients who are wanting to dip their toes in the “warmer” hair trends this fall.

For those of you guys, following this trend, which one of these (1-4) would you say most encompasses, all of the aspect that cowboy copper has to offer!?! I definitely think one is right on!

Let’s talk FADE.
The truth is... fashion colors fade. No matter how bright and colorful you begin, the direct dye pigments will fade with every single wash.
❤️I encourage my clients to go bold and bright if they want a longer time between appointments
🧡Embrace the fade. What other Haircolor gives you a completely new head if hair after ever wash!?
💛to prolong the vibrancy, wash in cold, use sulfate free shampoos, and avoid hot tools (this is why the ends usually fade first)
💚This original color was 4 weeks ago
💙use dry shampoo instead of shampooing to keep those colors
💜some colors hold pigment better than others (see that purple)
🖤plan your next appointment far enough out, that your fashion color has faded out (almost completely), so you don’t have to lift it out with chemicals.

🤗Here’s how: create 3 stacks to pull from for installation when creating blonde dimension:

✨first stack: match client’s lightest blonde (these will be your “highs”)
✨second stack: match client’s natural level (if 6 or higher) these will be your “lows”
✨third stack: use a colormelt or blended extension color (this will create that seamless blend we just talked about)

April 7, 2020… about 3 weeks after the world shut down, you brought joy, hope, and happiness full force into the lives of everyone who had the opportunity to interact with you. You were steady peace and grace in the midst of the unknown disasters that were 2020.

I could just live in your smile. I’ll never forget the very first smile you ever gave me; I was holding you while you were napping. I was just staring at the miracle that God had blessed me with, and the Elton John song “Your Song” came on.

As I listened to the words of the chorus, I remember tears just rolling down my cheeks at how accurate it was for the way you changed all our lives:

🌈Maxwelle’s FIRST hair color. for previous hair shenanigans. 🖤 I am posting this series specifically for Max, so she can look back on her first head of rainbow hair. Her reaction and excitement will stay as a core memory for me forever (check out the reel if you’re interested) .

What a HUGE blessing it is to be able to create hair magic for my clients on a regular basis. Maxwelle has been asking (since she could talk) if she could have rainbow hair. Every visit to the salon, she asks again. Every time I’ve used a color depositing shampoo, she’s excited, but asks why it isn’t rainbow.
