If you haven’t already met Kacee Renee Crandall] and allow us to introduce the two ladies behind the magic.
Jordan (founder of ) and Kacee (cofounder of and ) met in 2019 though the powers of social media. Shortly after that CKU starting bring CN to COLORADO to train some of their team in Country Swing and eventually in Country Swing Instruction. Since then they have worked together to bring consistence to Country Swing from state to state, to spread passion and joy everywhere we go, and to support to Colorado dance community however they can.
The idea to bring NWC23 to CO was 100% due to Jordan’s talent as a leader, her passion for her community, her teams incredible mentality, work ethic and drive and the excitement of getting to work together to bring to a life an event that means so much to us both!
They’re both so excited to see you (even if they look a little busy please say hi and grab a picture - trust me - they’ll appreciate it!) ❤️🔥
See you this weekend!!!

LESSON:
What is the Nomads Winter Convention event?
The Nomads Winter Convention (NWC) is a 3 day convention and competition focusing on Country Swing and Line Dancing like you would see at a bar or in a social setting. There are also classes focusing on Two Step, Country Swing, Lifts, and dance technique. Additionally, the convention offers social dancing, dance competitions, and more.
Do I need a partner?
You do NOT need to bring a partner to Nomads Winter Convention. In fact, MOST dancers will come solo or simply with friends. During partner classes we rotate partners and have fill-ins when needed.
Do I need previous dance experience?
NO! Previous experience is not necessary for this event. We all started somewhere and we are more than happy to help you get comfortable and confident. These events are a great place to meet others who are also starting or those who are already involved in this incredible community..

How do I find a partner for competition if I don’t have one?
The best way to find a partner is to attend the social dance sessions, the comp mixers, and of course, talk to new people! While social dancing, you will most likely find someone who will also needing a partner. Additionally, we will have a sign up sheet at the registration desk where you can add your name to the list as a Lead/Follow who is looking for a partner.
Do I need to buy a social pass if I am competing?
If you have a weekend pass, you do not need to buy a social pass. If you plan to only compete, you will only need to buy a social pass for that evening.
How do I qualify?
You do NOT need to qualify for the Novice/Beginner level. There will be a time slot on the schedule for dancers who started in 2022 (Nov/Beg) and are looking to place up into the upper level category.
Who can compete?
Everyone is welcome to compete anywhere they are qualified. For some, this will mean competing in multiple competitions (for example, you can compete in Strictly, Jack & Jill, and Line Dancing at the level you are qualified at). This means that you are welcomed to compete in as many areas as you would like. Each ticket can be purchased online prior to the cut off time.
What is the cost to compete?
Each competition entry has a base price of $10. We have some AWESOME prizes for the winners! If you have a full weekend, day, or social pass, it is free to watch the competitions.
What is Jack and Jill? Strictly?
A Jack and Jill (J&J) competition means that you will be entered without a specified partner and will be randomly paired with someone to compete with. Usually, there is a round of cuts after each dance, then another partner swap, and then a final competition round. A Strictly competition means that you and a partner of your choice will both compete and be judged together. You will not switch partners in a Strictly competition. Some of our competitions may have a hybrid of the two types.
What divisions are offered?
You MUST progress around the dance floor.
One step, two step, barstep or any other way you want to get around the floor.

How will competitions be judged?
There will be a panel of judges for all of the competitions. The judges will use a grading system based on a rubric. Each score will be added together, allowing a fair judging system.
Do I need a full weekend pass to compete or social dance?
No. We know that not everyone can take the weekend off. If you are unable to join us for the day time workshops, you can still purchase the stand alone tickets for social dancing and competing.
Can I buy a spectator’s pass?
We do not sell spectator’s passes. However, you can buy a social dance pass to watch the competitions, social dance, and/or compete.
What if I started dancing in 2021/22 and I want to compete in the Upper Level J & J Country Swing Division?
Yes! Do it! Please purchase a beginner level ticket and then carve out sometime to attend one of the J & J placement workshop slots. The beginner competition is a safe place for people who are just jumping in but want to try it out. If you feel like you are ready to compete at an intermediate or advanced level, come see us at one of those time slots and we will help you get into the right competition.
What is the age requirement for the event?
Our weekend event is 18+ for all WORKSHOPS and COMPETITIONS.
What is the age requirement for the pre party?
