Costa Rica Part One - Drew + Heather’s Jungle Elopement ✌🏼🌴🤍

Ready to be back in colorful Colorado. This trip to Europe has been a nightmare. I almost wish we hadn’t gone. Luckily, the day of our elopement was absolutely beautiful. But I have now had over $5,000 worth of items stolen or lost due to poor luggage services provided by the airports here.

These two cuties had such a beautiful day in Breckenridge surrounded by their friends and family. We explored, popped champagne, saw some mountain goats and hiked to a waterfall to celebrate their love.

Omg there is so much I could write about Jenn and Tanner!! They are such AMAZING people. They are kind, generous, fun and down-to-earth.
These two cuties got married in Crested Butte, Colorado. On August 15th at sunrise!
Poor Jenn had a 2am start time for her hair and makeup! But she looked fabulous thanks to Ashley from
They had there ceremony by this gorgeous lake that looks like a mirror with the reflection that you get on it.
Tanners dad officiated their ceremony and it was so intimate + special. Their pup even got to stamp his paw-of-approval on their marriage license!
After their ceremony we did a tailgate breakfast. Then Jenn and Tanner took some time to paddle-board on the lake.
We ended their day with a hike to a nearby waterfall and they even got in!
To say the least this day was absolutely incredible! I can’t recommend eloping with your best friend in the wilds of Colorado enough!

A little sneak peek of L+R’s Elopement Day 🤍✌🏼
We started off the day at Lindsey’s Airbnb with getting ready photos. Her mom and sister were there to help, along with her two little nieces.
There was a cute little river right by their Airbnb and we found this beautiful forested area, and did a first look with her dad.
Following that, Lindsey had to wipe away the tears and get ready for her first look with Rory! AND you can tell by the look on his face he was STOKED to see his beautiful bride!
To start their adventurous mountain elopement we headed over to A-basin to ride the gondola. There were some epic views of the mountains and the gondola made for some really cool photos 😎
When we came back down they enjoyed a little picnic lunch with their family and friends.
It was starting to lightly rain so we decided to head into the mountains early for their private ceremony with just their closest family and friends.
Rory is from South Africa and one of his bestfriends came to officiate the ceremony. The ceremony was spoken in Afrikaans and English. Rory’s parents sent him beautiful hand written letters to be read during the ceremony which was just incredibly special.
We ended the night with them reading their vows just as the stars were peeking out! Lindsey was even surprised Rory with her vows being spoken Afrikaans! She said she spent a lot of time practicing 😂
Overall, It was a super magical day full of sweet intimate moments and lots of kisses! I can’t wait to share more of their gallery in the coming weeks!

Two of my favorite babes got married about a month ago and I’m so stoked for them! I got to work with Amelia and Rose over the course of 1.5 years!
It’s been incredible watching their love story - they moved from DC to Vermont, bought a house, got a puppy, got married in Shenandoah, honeymooned in Portugal, and so much more!
I always encourage couples to reach out as far in advance as possible because it helps me get to know your relationship and we can all get comfy before your wedding day! Not to mention I find it so fun + exciting to see relationships blossom!

✨Yong Wei + Qi Wei’s story✨
These two cuties flew all the way from Boston to get their bridal formal photos done at Colorado’s infamous Maroon Bells!
They met in college through mutual friends and were actually in the same major. They are both biochemical engineers!! 😱
I got up at 1am to drive to the bells for their 5am sunrise session! I was worried as the sun was coming up that it was going to rain because there was heavy cloud coverage.
But as you can tell it really just added to the beauty of the day. The beginning of our session was a little overcast but when the sun hit the mountain everything in the park started to light up! We enjoyed the wild life that was strolling through the fields and we even encountered a moose. He was only 10 feet from us and then he got in the lake.
I really enjoyed getting to learn about Yong wei and Qi wei and laughing with them over the silly little moments in between photos. This session was definitely one for the books 🧡✌🏼

Running into the weekend like 😄
Garrett and I are heading to Buena Vista this weekend and I’ll be shooting an epic elopement on Saturday + Sunday!
I can’t wait to show you guys the behind the scenes! We are doing a pack-rafting, hiking elopement and spending the night in an a-frame cabin with a hot tub! 😮🍾✨

Memorial Day weekend is just a few days away!
Garrett and I are kicking off the weekend by heading up to the mountains!! Then on Saturday I have an elopement in Rocky Mountain national Park with one of the sweetest couples! And the best news, is that Trail Ridge Road should be open and I can’t wait to grab some epic sunset photos up there!
Garrett and I will be spending the whole weekend with the dogs exploring and hiking! If you have any suggestions for some epic hikes, let us know! Or should we head to Wyoming to see the Tetons in Jackson hole? What’s your vote! I also would love to get out on some water and go paddle boarding!

Did you know that most couples decide to have a private vow reading on their elopement day instead of sharing them during their ceremony?
Yup - that's right! I would say 90% of my couples are super private + introverted and they don't feel comfortable sharing their personal vows in front of their guests, so they choose to share their vows in a private setting.
Take for example Brittany + Chris chose to share private love letters by this river with a gorgeous back-drop. The best part was that I didn't even need to hear what they were saying to each other because I was shooting so far away!
It is truly a moment that gets to be shared just between the two of you! How special is that??

What kind of ceremony can you have at your elopement?
This is a question I get asked alot!! Many of my couples who reach out who are looking to elope, are wanting to experience something a little bit untraditional. But when it comes to the ceremony aspect some of my couples are really confused as to what they want to keep traditional and what they want to keep untraditional.
There are so many options of what you could do for your ceremony. A lot of the times I recommend doing a mixture of both so that you have no regrets.
The cool thing about getting married here in Colorado is that you can self-solemnize. Which basically means you can marry yourselves!
However, some of my couples prefer having somebody who is an officiant oversee the ceremony to keep a bit of tradition and so that they can kind of take a back seat during their ceremony.
Okay but what do most of my couples end up doing?
1. They choose to read private vows with me photographing them from afar.
2. They choose to do some kind of self uniting ceremony. (Hand-fasting, sand ceremony, etc)
3. They have an officiant oversee the traditional aspects of a marriage ceremony. (Usually this isn't at the same time as their private vow reading)
4. They involve their families in some way (they read letters from them if they aren't present or have them say a few words if they are present)
5. They usually self-solemnize either beforehand, during or after the elopement.
I help all of my couples talk through all of their options so if you aren't sure what is right for you, this is something I can absolutely help you decide on!

Did you know that I offer planning services with all of my packages?
Yup! That’s right! I help all of my couples find the perfect location for their elopements, couples sessions, proposals, etc. Many of my couples have no idea where they want to go when they first reach out to me!
The reason I assist with planning is that there are sooooo many logistics when eloping or just for a simple photo shoot! Permits, rules, accessibility, lighting, and so so much more!
I also consider myself a guide because there aren’t a lot of resources out there for eloping couples and so I help guide my couples through EVERYTHING!!
