After watching people at the Maker Space, in a non creepy way 👀, the gals who run the space .co noticed a few things and have made improvements!

🗓️They no longer host open studios hours.

✨Fret not! They will continue to host artist-led workshops and crafty hours.

💻The biggest change moving forward will be that residents are required to book the space for your own private use directly on their site. *p**f* magic!

Our buildings are getting some attention 🔥
Congratulations to for taking home a slew of awards from the AIA annual fall conference.

FLIGHT + KABIN recieved design awards, both of which live on the TAXI campus.

A notable feature of FLIGHT is its expansive green roof with integrated solar infrastructure – one of the largest in the state of Colorado. These features help to achieve a LEED Platinum certification.

KABIN which is our 194 unit housing development was noted for its innovative floor plans which maximize efficiency and liveability. KABIN'S location, next to a railyard, guarantees uninterrupted mountain views and maximum light infiltration through it's featured garage door windows.

No community is complete without working on their fitness. Enjoy walking paths, a gym or exercise classes and private lessons with on campus coaches.

Once home to Denver's Yellow Cab Depot, the transformed TAXI campus is now a thriving and sprawling community with nine buildings, 150 businesses and 300 full-time residents. With continued growth - the campus focuses on new structures and amenities that facilitate relationships and collaboration, making it much more than a place to live or work.

Warmer spring days bouncing off the exteriors. Love where you live, live at Taxi.

Current resident artist, Kenzie Sitterud’s (they/them) exhibition titled, “To Dusk,” opens with Friday, April 28th! From the artist: “To Dusk, replicates the landscape of the Utah desert through material metaphor. I paint the surfaces of mobile walls using color theory to create different colored reflections mimicking the reflection of the sun against the red rocks in the canyon walls in Utah. Together the walls form a virtual sunset. By mixing interior and exterior spaces, along with natural resources and waste from acts of consumption, I create a landscape alluding to themes of the American West; expansionism, exploitation, and my own experiences growing up in the Utah desert.”

Sitterud began working with ArtLab interns in February teaching them everything from graphic design and branding to now enlisting their help with performance and sound art. This marks a departure from previous bodies of work created by Sitterud. They are focusing on their unique upbringing in the American West through heavy experimentation with industrial packing materials.

“Seen as a whole, the exhibition brings together colliding environment and
cultural influences—the powerful impact the desert had on my formative memories, and the transformative impact capitalism has on us all.”
