Ya girl behind the camera officially has an MSW title behind her name. 👩🏼‍🎓Masters degree has been secured and now we are off into a new venture in the social work/ therapy realm. Photography will always be a creative outlet for me which is why I will not fully let go of my photography business and all the amazing couples, families, and badass entrepreneurs that have come along with it. In fact, I owe it to all of you for inviting me into the most precious moments of your lives. Those spaces helped me realize that I want to be apart of your lives in a more deep and meaningful way. With that being said, even though I am beginning my journey to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am still photographing weddings, events, families, and everything in between. Just about every wedding I try to include a little mirror selfie. I have always went back and forth on whether to include them in the final gallery that I send over to my couples. What do you think? Yay or nay on the photographer selfies? I like to look at it as capturing the entire day and that also includes the photographer. Right?? 😎

Today has been one of the most Monday-est Mondays ever. I’m doing my best to laugh through it. 😵‍💫

Chicago, you will always have a little 🍕 my heart. It was invigorating to be back in the city and in the Midwest where my photography business blossomed. It was even better spending my time with a couple that felt like long-time best friends. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve been chatting for two years throughout the pandemic and a few wedding reschedules.

A snowy engagement session in honor of yet another winter storm warning in Denver tomorrow. 🥶🥶

Some time off to myself has meant that I can dive into personal photos that I’ve been putting off posting for the longest time. Just a fun little ditty for your Friday afternoon. Where did I find two pails of apples in the middle of a field? That is an answer that will forever be a mystery. But uhhh, Costco down the road.

My first wedding with .photography. 🥰

Something about a black and white image makes me feel more in the moment. It allows the viewer to look past the colors and potentially distracting elements of the image and focus solely on the emotion.

The details help paint a picture for what the day felt like. The condensation encapsulating the wine bottle. The sprouting lilies. The bright green ivy covering the building. The bikes and cars surrounding the bustling venue. The summer sun radiating through the windows. These are some of my favorite photos to capture.

Im going to be honest here. Full disclosure, I’m getting tired of sharing the “picture-perfect” photos on my feed. I am sure you’re probably tired of seeing them. Although they’re beautiful and enjoyable to look at, I’ve decided that I’m ready to mix it up a bit. In order to add a little more spice to your feed (and mine) I’m going to make it a goal of mine to share the imperfect, in-the-moment type photos. You may still see me post the traditional photos (because I know how important those are) but I am ready for a change.
