What makes an image stand out? ⁠

When we are culling thousands of images taken during a photoshoot to narrow it down to the best of the best, we're looking for some pretty specific things. Are the subjects looking their best, is the lighting how we'd like it, is one micro expression better than another, and making decisions on those and many more internal things we as photographers are trained to look for. The hope is the end result is something that captures not just our eyes, but stands out to the client as well. ⁠

And of course, other times an image captures our hearts and we can't pinpoint exactly why. Maybe it's a combination of things. ⁠
