Introducing the next chapter — Modern Nomad Home + Studio.

Modern Nomad began its journey 5 years ago. In the past year, we started down a new and exciting path - one that not only necessitated a physical metamorphosis, but a spiritual one as well. This shift required an exploration of our roots and what it means to be a Modern Nomad. Travel in itself can be a search for knowledge, adventure...serenity, but often, it is an opportunity to gain perspective on the world at large and our place in it. 

We began with symbols, myths, and stories. Paying homage to the richness and complexity of the items we carry, and the worlds they come from. Hence, the soul of Modern Nomad Home, the brand, is represented by the leopard. Leopards are symbols of power, strength, confidence, instinct and bravery. They represent survival, shapeshifting, authenticity, agility, and self-reliance.

The leopard's path is illuminated by a lantern.  Emily Dickinson quote’s, “I am out with lanterns, looking for myself" spoke to her experience of moving to a new home and looking for traces of herself. While this quote has been interpreted in many ways, to us, it represents a well-lighted path in search of authenticity and the ultimate search for home. Finding your way. Finding the light within you. Finding oneself.

The moon lights the way for the leopard. A call for presence. Being open to healing, renewal, intuition and wisdom. Making peace with your shadow. Also inspired by Li Bai’s poem “Quiet Night Thought”, the narrator is far away from home and in their loneliness, finds comfort in the bright moon outside their room. Home, just as the moon, always follows you no matter where you go.

Today’s favorite find, or shall we say “relic from the road,” is this balance between light, shadow, and a surprise protector

We travel in search of moments, trinkets, and conversations that speak to us and move us. Then we come home & bring that cloud of creativity with us to share with our community. Such is the way of life for a modern nomad: constantly in search of.

The end of an era.

What a bittersweet day it is friends. We’re all packed and ready for our next adventure…today is move day for Modern Nomad Home!

We’re passing the torch to the new collective and we are so excited to watch them expand, create and continue to serve the RiNo community.

We are beyond grateful for all of the connections, relationships and experiences we shared in our 5 years on Larimer. We’ll miss you RiNo! But now it’s time for us to embark on our next journey to create a new home…

We are so honored to have received this award, and could not do what we love to do without the support of our clients and customers. Thank you and for your support of small businesses in Denver. It's no secret that retail has been tough for so many this past year, so this really means the world. We look forward to doing what we do best at our new location this Fall.
