We are thrilled to announce that Colorado Governor Jared Polis has proclaimed the first week of June as Colorado Youth Entrepreneurship Awareness Week! This resolution, inspired by the incredible work of young entrepreneur Aspen Peterson, encourages local economic development organizations to facilitate youth financial literacy and business programs and host events targeted toward youth entrepreneurship. Last week, Governor Polis and Senator Zenzigler met with Aspen and our CEO, Dustin Zvonek. 🌟
Aspen Peterson, a rising senior at Evergreen High School, has always been passionate about business. As she has grown, this passion led her to create her own company, HighSchoolBabysitters.com, in 2023. Aspen is dedicated to providing others with the resources she was given to learn about business and grow their own companies.
Aspen is also actively involved in her community, serving on the Youth Advisory Board for Young Americans Center for Financial Education and as a team member of Financial Kids Colorado. In the future, she hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and explore her interests in the intersection of law and business when she heads to college.

REGISTRATION OPENS TODAY! Summer day camps are a great way for young people to experience financial education through our award-winning programs facilitated by our beloved program staff! These dynamic camps (which emphasize fun!) feature interactive activities, hands-on application of instruction as well as outdoor time on our beautiful program deck. Camps are available for youth entering 3rd-8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year. Link in bio.

This year, Americans Center for Financial Education’s very own Deines, a student at High School, was selected as one of Bank of America’s 2023 Student Leaders – a prestigious program that has connected thousands of community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service. Through the program, Oliver was paired with a paid summer internship opportunity and was invited to a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. helping him and other gain invaluable work and life experience. Today through January 17th, Bank of America is once again accepting student applications for this competitive 2024 Student Leaders program. He attends High School in and is Founder and President of the Northfield Finance Club, as well as a Inc. International Finalist. Continuing his interest in financial literacy, Krish participated in the of America Student Leaders program that has connected thousands of community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service since 2004.

How many non-profits are lucky enough to have served multiple generations of the same family? We are! This is a story of Alison and Quinn.

Alison attended Young AmeriTowne in 1995 with her classmates from West Middle School. She was sworn in as a judge and she saved the photo and the news clipping from 'The Towne Times' as keepsakes.

Fast forward to November of 2023 when it was Alison's daughter, Quinn, who attended Young AmeriTowne. The memories came flooding back and Alison shared her thoughts on the experience with us.

"As we were getting close to town closing time I remembered the same feeling from 30 years ago... rushing around to try to get all of the last things done, make final purchases, etc. One of the things that's so great about this experience is the anticipation. Teachers and kids do weeks of prep work, and it's all exciting because they're looking forward to the big day. I remember practicing my speech with my parents as a kid, and this year my daughter and I practiced interviewing together. I loved watching thrive in her shop manager role. Thanks to the Young AmeriTowne team for brilliantly creating such an engaging learning experience for kids!"
