The conditions have to be *perfect* for this event. They have a holding period every year December 14 - March 23 but more often than not, the conditions are not favorable to surfers. It is the 34th time the contest has taken place but the first since 2016.

We are elated to share Knox finished his last round of chemotherapy last week at CSU Animal Cancer Center.

The wonderful oncology staff surprised me with the news and we were able to celebrate by ringing the bell.
I got emotional… surprise, surprise.

It’s been a looong and humbling six months. July, August, September, and October were grueling after the T-Cell Lymphoma diagnosis. 💔 But November and December brought good news. ❤️‍🩹 Knox was deemed stable. We didn’t know he would make it this far. And for that, we celebrate.

We will go back next month for an ultrasound to see how he is doing and take it from there. One day at a time. I’m told we don’t aim to cure cancer in dogs since it would be unethical to give them high doses of chemo. The chemo and treatments for our furry friends are meant to maintain quality of life. He may or may not be in remission, he is not “cancer free,” but he is a survivor. He’s here and HAPPY.

Thank you for all your love, support, thoughts and prayers. Especially to the oncology team. Knox has sure made an impact. Let’s keep on adventuring, Bubba.
