Speech-to-Speech Relay allows anyone with a speech challenge to communicate with a Communications Assistant (CA) who re-voices on their behalf. To make communication even easier, users can setup a profile and store up to 30-speed dial numbers. By storing their most frequently used numbers, STS users simply ask for the caller by name without the hassle of remembering numbers when placing a call.

Sunday, Engine 15 and Lt. James Leber participated in an event at the Denver Zoo called the Safari Deaf Awareness event. This event is an opportunity to bring community members together to collect resources/information on accessible technology and services related to communication access for hearing loss. It was fun to see the surprise on people's faces when they realized that Lt. Leber was able to sign!

10/03/2023

It’s important to recognize that not everyone communicates the same way. That includes folks who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and those who have a Speech challenge. Relay Colorado helps bridge the communication gap for those members to place and receive phone calls.
