What’s the easiest way to make haircare part of your everyday routine?

By creating your own ✨ haircare ritual ✨

By definition, a ritual is a series of actions or type of behavior regularly and invariably followed. You are intentionally making time to perform your ritual and in turn making it sacred.

The investment that you make in your hair goes beyond your appointment with me in the salon. It’s an investment into a higher version of yourself that deserves to be nurtured every day!

Ok Bethanie, how can I make this happen?

The keywords I’d like to draw your attention to are, “a series of actions.” You already have a nighttime routine, so I want you to pick an action from that routine. You might have also heard this referred to as habit stacking. For example, brushing your teeth or washing your face. That action is what you will attach your new hair ritual to.

Your ritual might look something like this…

Every night after brushing your teeth, you will apply your hair oil.
As you rub the oil in your hands you’ll say a gratitude affirmation like, “I am so grateful to have beautiful hands that help me take care of myself and my loved ones.” As you apply the oil to your hair you say, “my hair is a crown that I wear proudly.” You complete your ritual by looking in the mirror saying, “tonight I will rest well knowing that I am doing the best that I can and that is enough.”

The process will look relatively the same for all hair extensions and even for anyone with hair that needs to be brushed.

I recommend working in 3 separate sections. Parting your sections between your rows of extensions is ideal.

Starting with your nape section, hold the top of your extension attachment point, as I demonstrate in the video above. Begin brushing from the ends and slowly make your way up.

Move on to the middle section of your hair. Begin on the ends and make your way up.

Lastly, work on the crown of your head with the same method.

As you make your way to your roots, it's important to be careful not to snag the brush on the hair extension attachment point.

Why do you have to have your weft extensions moved up every 6-8 weeks?

You naturally shed during the 6-8 weeks between maintenance. That means the amount of hair in the beads that the wefts were attached to is slightly less by the time you come back in.

With a re-install at your maintenance appointment, you are guaranteeing the scalp's health by re-balancing the beads.

The average person’s hair also grows 1/4 inch per month. If your appointment is at the 8+ week mark you can be looking at almost an inch of hair growth.

Hair growth is not always consistent across your entire head so we need to make sure that your extensions are in the proper spot as well.

This is all part of maintaining and protecting the dream hair we have worked hard to achieve.
