Your first place together is the first time you get to create a “home” with the person you love. 🏡

These two created the best little family and home! Although they are saying goodbye to this little home, they will have pictures of this chapter to look back on forever. I wish you both so much happiness and love on your new adventure! 🩷

I love that so many people are moving towards getting photos taken just to have them! I’m a firm believer that there doesn’t have to be a reason to get pictures taken. CAPTURE the chapter you’re in!

College is so much more than just furthering your education. It’s where you find your people….where you find yourself.

This chapter in life hold such a special place in my heart. That 18-22 years old range. Where you’re finding out how to be on your own, think for yourself, and hopefully spreading your wings. It’s meant for making mistakes and challenging your way of thinking. It’s meant for late nights and loads of laughter.

I loved this group not only because they’re graduating for Wartburg (go knights!) but also because I could see the bond they built. From random roommates to lifelong friends. Made me smile so much!

These beautiful girls graduate tomorrow! As this chapter closes I hope you all soak it in and cherish it, but also start getting excited for this next chapter in life! College is a stage of life that is meant for growth, wandering, and finding where you are meant to be in life. No path is the same, and that is more than okay!

Love is such a vulnerable emotion and looks different for so many people. That’s my favorite part, I get to capture your unique way of love and I LOVE it!!

HEY there and WELCOME!
I thought I would take a second to reintroduce myself since I have gained some new friends! My name is Allison and I am the owner of Cedar Prairie Photography.

•Where’d the name come from?
- I grew up in Prairie City, IA and moved away after high school and found my new home in the Cedar Valley. Both places gave me major milestones in my life and gave me some of my favorite people in the world. So it only seemed fitting to have them both be part of this milestone in life!

•What do I do?
- I am a recent Wartburg College Alum with my Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and most recently an Allen College graduate with my Bachelor’s in Nursing. I am now a labor and delivery nurse and LOVE every minute of it!

• What do I love in life?
- I simply love life! I have an amazing boyfriend of 3 years that keeps life so fun! I gained the best group of gal pals while at college that are so smart and talented, but always make getting together the best time ever! I love my family and frequently drive back to my hometown to visit the loud and crazy crew! Some other random things I love are county music, traveling to the mountains, sports, dogs, sushi, decorating for ALL holidays, and the outdoors (especially around a fire)!

• Why photography?
- Every moment in life, no matter how big or how small, deserves to be celebrated! I come from a family that constantly took pictures of all the simplest moments in life, and having those to look back on makes memories simply come to life. I want to capture the giggles, the tears, the small glances, all the small moments in your life that make it so special!

Hardest secret to keep ever!

Devin reached out a few months ago asking me to be the one to capture this magical “yes” moment. I of course couldn’t say no! The weeks and days went by and during our last meeting to finalize details, just a couple days prior, he was so nervous and anxious. It was so clear that this was about to be something truly awesome to capture…..and it was!

With the whole crew present to cheer and cry along side of them…the night was perfect!

A Sunday morning spent down by the water with this couple is something I just couldn’t turn down! You will never find me not smiling because of these two. They share so much love and radiate joy! I have taken their pictures while dating and now engaged, and watching their love grow has been so special! 🤍

“Fall in love with your best friend”

A phrase I’ve learned has so many meanings. A best friend who encourages you, and supports you of course, but also a best friend that you can sit and talk to for hours or sit in silence and still feel just as connected.

I love trying to capture every part of the bond a couple has whether it’s laughing constantly, the sweet conversations they share between poses, or the little interactions they have throughout the session ✨

One day you’re golfing with your buddy and flirt with the beer cart girl….next thing you know you’re engaged and going to be cart buddies for life 🤍⛳️

I love this couple so much and this session was so special for so many reasons! This is the course they met on, where they got engaged, where frequent date nights happen, and soon their wedding day! Brady and Emily I hope you never stop flirting with each other for years to come!

The feeling of being a senior in high school is so unique! It’s full of excitement, but also some sadness. Like getting ready to go down separate roads than your besties! These girls were full of laughter and love for each other! I couldn’t help but smile and laugh along side of them!

Sweet sentimental moments. The touching of noses before a kiss, the sliding of fingers before they lock into place, they’re the little touches that make sweet moments even sweeter

High school activities can become such a pillar of one’s life, that when you graduate it’s HARD walking away. Capturing what has played such a big role in someone’s identity for many years is so special to me 🤍

Oh my I wish you could hear the laughter and love from this session! These two are so in love and it shows! The sunset was dreamy, but the happiness they share is what everyone dreams of having!

Sisters have the most unbreakable bond 🤍
During this senior session, all of her sisters were there to help pick outfits, make her laugh, and I just couldn’t stop myself from snapping some pictures of these two!

Seniors are so fun! They’re full of excitement, yet nervous for what’s ahead. It’s such a fun milestone to capture!

This sessions was a hot summer night but she was such a trooper! From flower fields to water, we covered it all! 🤍

Every shoot is full of small and big little moments.
This mother daughter moment was right after zipping up her dress. The perfect small moment. Then that proud dad moment after their first look made the best big moment to capture forever.

This little man, was full of personality, learning to walk, and ultimately trying to understand the world still. It was so much fun capturing day 365 for him and his sweet parents!
