I wanted to get her usual brightness on top but also tackle the dinge (is that a word? 🤓🤔) from the elements and water, without compromising her hairs integrity… sooooo I combined my favorite service with her highlights & did a full balayage AROUND her full highlight, and WOW! The balayage got to softly lift through her existing blonde while the highlights did their own job at her base and I’m STOKED about it! Thank you friend for always putting your faith in me as an artist, you make me a better hairstylist! ❤️

I’ve been doing her hair for years and I can NEVER get over how it lifts like a DREAM every single time. She’s STUNNING! 😍😍😍

Sometimes less really is more and a mini foil & gloss are all you need 😉😍

This beauty came in with her sister and both were getting a mini foil. I asked them both what they wanted to see, and how they wore their hair, and went about each of their services completely differently because nothing about any service we do as stylists is a “one size fits all” ordeal. She wears her hair down more often, and has a dark base with bright highlights. So while her sister got a pinwheel of 12 foils in a lived in looking application, Aspin got foils around her hairline & part-line, and one to drape over the back. Her sisters were painted like a balayage type of technique and Aspins went right to her roots to blend in to her darker base.
They both lifted like a dream, with completely different developers and each came out looking BEAUTIFUL! Not to mention both of them are the SWEETEST girls! 😍🤗

It’s so easy to get caught up in what’s WRONG, and I’ve been catching myself spiraling out in that place for a good while now. I’ve noticed that when you’re in the midst of transition (on top of transition on top of transition) it’s especially easy to get stuck here because of the panic behind wondering if you’re making the right choices and how much WEIGHT is on all of that..
So today I’m challenging you right along with myself to ask yourself what’s going WELL, instead of what’s going wrong. I’ll start, and then Id love to hear your responses in the comments!
1.) My beautiful teenage son is shifting and growing and figuring out his independence and the sky isn’t falling in the process (while I’m rocking back and forth in the corner crying and laughing all at the same time 🥴)
2.) My prayers over my family have been coming to fruition and we’re gaining ground and getting CLOSER and I couldn’t be happier about that. Still a work in progress in some areas but thriving in others so I’ll take the win and use that as my grounds for hope in the other areas that are still struggling.
3.) I’m starting to hear Gods voice and promptings with more CLARITY, and that’s EVERYTHING and so exciting to me!
Focusing less on what I can’t control and more so on putting everything in the hands of the one who can 🙏🏻❤️

Lighting and exposure is our worst enemy when working at night, especially with the time change… but this balayage refresh for her was my favorite so far, and I had to at least try! The pics don’t do it Justice and it’s STILL beautiful 😍😍😍😍
