As I approach 55, I’m feeling stronger and more determined than ever to make time for my wellness, so I don't have to make time for illness. The last few years have been a journey through several surgeries, physical therapy, and, most importantly, developing a self-care routine that has truly transformed my life.

For the longest time, whenever I was stressed or overwhelmed, the advice I got was always the same: "Take a deep breath." And I'll admit, I never quite grasped the power of those words. I mean, we breathe all the time, right? But it wasn't until I delved into the practice of mindful breathing that I truly understood its magic.
