Our First Response: Prayer

- Pray for comfort
Pray for those who have been affected by the hurricane, including those who have lost their homes, need food and water, or are seeking medical care.

- Pray for those helping
Pray for those responding to the disaster and providing support and care.

- Pray for God's presence
Pray that God's presence will comfort those who feel forsaken and have lost hope.

Our Second Response: Mobilization

We are coordinating our response with the help of Ron Toole, a church member and a disaster relief coordinator for the Global Methodist Church.

- Cleanup Assistance
If you can volunteer for one or more days, please email Ron ([email protected]).

- Assemble a Cleaning Bucket Cost:
Approximately $85 to assemble. https://tinyurl.com/DisasterBucket for instructions.

- Assemble Hygiene Kits Cost:
Approximately $15 to assemble. https://tinyurl.com/HygieneKitInstructions for instructions.

- Logistics Support
We need volunteers who can drive supplies to a distribution location (estimated 40-100 miles). You do not have to be able to lift heavy things, but you would need to have a vehicle that could haul supplies.

- Monetary Donation

Thursday, 10 am Update

Continuing NNE track and slight increase in forward speed. Winds around core up to 105 mph and strengthening expected to continue.

Wednesday, 10 am update

Keep your eyes on Helene. Helene should be a major hurricane when makes landfall and impacts will be felt well in advance of landfall. Destin still sitting to the WEST of the projected landfall. The next 24 hours will be important as the track is honed in.

This week we are looking at Abraham in Genesis 22 and wrestling with this core question: how do we respond when God's promise and God's provision don't seem to align?
