After many years of perseverance going through the hoops and haggles to pursue my passion to help my fellow citizens with their technical issues and make technology affordable and accessible for all, for the first time in my life I don’t have any idea which direction to turn to for help.

The windows in our street-level retail flagship location that we have called home since December 2014 have been busted since March. Even as a model tenant, I can’t seem to get any resolution.

The lease terms are clear in saying that the building owner shall maintain and keep the premises exterior common areas in good operating condition and repair after written notice of the repair and only if the repair was not caused by the negligence or willful act of the tenant.

Apparently, the blight tickets and the emergency correction orders are all bark, no bite, and don’t really mean anything as they have not gotten the building owner’s attention to compel him to resolve this issue.

Despite the undisputed success of the ACP, the program will run out of funding in just over 90 days - unless Congress acts.

Failure by Congress to fund this program will force millions of households already on tight budgets to choose between access and other essential services. They cannot afford to make that choice and neither can we without jeopardizing the historic $42B infrastructure investment that will finally get all Americans access to .

The more things change, the more they remain the same as another senseless and unnecessary death has occurred as a result of police brutality. Whether you choose to believe it or not, there is a war going on in our communities not only with challenges of police violence, but also access to resources, equal pay, housing discrimination, and sentencing guidelines just to name a few.

Now is the time to take policy action, focus on law enforcement reform and the impact of institutionalized discrimination toward black men and communities of color. Until will hold those we elect and the powers that be accountable, things will remain the same.
