Using a heat protectant is one of the best things you can do to protect your hair. It is especially important to use one if you have fine/ damaged/ lightened hair, which is more likely to break over time under the stress of the heat.
Heat protectant is a product you should be applying before you do any heat styling to your hair. (Blow dryer, curling iron, straightener) It comes in both cream & spray form. It works as a barrier between your hot tool and hair strand itself. They provide protection to your cuticle & keep your hair soft & smooth.
Although you might not notice it at first or after one use… continually using heat and not protecting your hair will make your hair more distressed & fragile, resulting in breakage.

“How many sessions will my hair take?” 🤯 from
“If a stylist has never done your hair before, you can’t ask this question. That’s like asking a contractor how long it’ll take to build you a house, without showing them your plans.
Everyone’s hair is different. Hair isn’t “just hair”, it’s anatomy. If you have EVER colored your hair before then you just added a chemical on top of your anatomy. So now we have two unknown factors to work through.
ZONE 1: Virgin hair, closest to the scalp. Hair closest to the scalp lifts the fastest because of two reasons: 1. Heat from your scalp speeds up the process 2. Hair fresh out of your scalp is softer than hair further down so it’s easier to get into.
ZONE 2: Permanent color, professional. Color creates a layer of artificial pigments that we have to lift out IN ADDITION TO the natural pigments. Box color is 10x harder to lift out than professional, so imagine ZONE 2 with box color 😱 This is why if you have years of color (box or not) on your hair, it will take longer to achieve your desired results.
ZONE 3: Previously lightened, with fashion colors. We wanted to do purple, so I didn’t have to push the hair too hard to remove the light blue tint. Blue is part of purple [Blue + Red = Purple]. I wanted to keep the hair healthy but we still had to lift out the previous color and we ended up with this.
THIS is why your hair history is so important to us. To the naked eye ZONE 1 & 2 appeared the same with the exception that ZONE 1 had some grey. BUT without knowing her hair history I wouldn’t know if ZONE 2 was professional color or box color.
We formulate based on the knowledge we have and the information you give us.
There are two people that you should never ever ever lie to: Your doctor and your stylist”
breaks down different “root styles” 🤓⬇️

What’s your root style? Traditional highlights will always make the hair look the brightest because you’re taking that blonde all the way to the scalp. But it doesn’t come with low maintenance. A softer root that’s a level lighter than your natural will get you the longevity while still keeping you feeling a bit brighter. A darker opaque root tends to come with the least amount of maintenance but will also make you feel the darkest compared to the other options. Which one do you prefer?
Happy Monday, Beauties! 💖
