This past Monday was the Assistants’ Championship !

These 4 gentlemen move on to the National Assistants Championship in Florida on November 14-17! Congratulations to on the victory and the other three qualifiers, !

Here is the current condition of the range. Almost all the grading work is done. Irrigation will be next followed by grassing. The improved sight-lines are exciting!

Our Head Pro Chris Cartwright will be going back to the PGA Professional Championship in 2025. He qualified today for 1 of the 3 spots the GA PGA awarded for the tournament that will be held in Port St Lucie, Florida.

This weekend, 312 PGA of America Golf Professionals will tee it up at Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco, competing for 20 spots on the Corebridge Financial Team and a spot in the field at the PGA Championship.

The new wall around the green on 8 is coming along nicely! Next we will be repairing the low spot on the front right corner of the green.

Congratulations to Coach Jim Owen and the Oglethorpe Golf Team on their victory in the West Pines Collegiate Tournament this week. Teams came from all over the country to compete and raved about our course and the condition it was in. On to next week’s Georgia Section, PGA of America West Pines Classic!

Local golf: West Pines pro wins Georgia Professional Championship Chris Cartwright, the PGA professional at West Pines Golf Course in Douglasville, won the Georgia PGA Professional Championship on Tuesday at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville.

Club Championship weekend is upon us. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up!

It’s that time of year unfortunately… We are aerating the greens this week. We will have 9 holes open today (unaerated) and all 18 will be closed tomorrow to finish up the process. Rates will be reduced during the recovery process.

Congratulations to the West Pines Classic Champion, JP Griffin from Capital City Club. JP had a two round total of -8!

The Low Am honors went to Stephen Kinsel from Sugar Hill, GA with a total of -4.

West Pines Golf Professionals Chris Cartwright and Matt Sanders had strong showings at -4 and even par respectively.

Check out the tees that will be in use for the USGA’s qualifier for the US Women’s Am on Wednesday. A select few ladies will punch their ticket to tee it up at Chambers Bay in Washington.
