Blessing Submissions

Please submit the names of teachers, professors, students, scholars, staff, administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and any other school workers in any city, state or country that you would like to receive a special prayer and blessing for this school year. A special card will be placed on the Altar in their honor during the Blessing of the Backpacks Worship Service this Sunday at 11:00am.

It's Back-to-School Weekend @ DFUMC!

Back to School Olympic Bash
Join us Saturday from 10:00am-12:00 Noon as we have our Back-to-School Olympic Bash. We will have games, school supplies (while supplies last), bubbles, food, crafts, and a photo area. Invite your friends and family to this fun event! Every child will receive a medal for participating. There will even be a chance to win a door prize! We look forward to having you join in the fun!

Last week, our Burnett Team kicked off the school year in style by treating the teachers and staff of Burnett Elementary School to a Chick-fil-A breakfast and a special blessing. We have a wonderful mission opportunity coming up on Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th. Together with our brothers and sisters in Christ from Bright Star UMC, we will be providing a hot meal and a sack lunch to more than 200 or more people and we need your help.

Pastor James Hannah says:
"My favorite hymn is "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" written by Robert Robinson. Robinson wrote the hymn when he was 22 just after he left the Baptist church and converted to Methodism, and this struggle is reflected in the hymn. The hymn speaks to me as I can see my own struggles in the faith and where the grace of God has provided strength and courage for that journey."

Continuing in the spirit of Mother's Day, the United Women in Faith are excited to announce our Baby Recognition Service THIS SUNDAY. We look forward to celebrating the newest additions to our church family over the past year. During service, we will hold a brief ceremony where each family will receive a beautifully calligraphed baby certificate featuring the baby's name, date of birth, and parents' names. Please join us at the altar to receive your certificate before the ceremony begins. We can't wait to share this special moment with you!
